Really appreciate how real this was, I’m really privileged to be able to still have a relatively normal Christmas and my hearts goes out to everyone who is missing their loved ones this midwinter. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, mostly because my family goes out of our way to make it special, even when things are falling apart. There are a lot of big changes happening in my life right now, so I am clinging to Christmas as a way to celebrate the people I love and feel closer to them, even if it isnt't physically. I find that watching familiar movies and listening to my favorite Christmas tunes helps me get in the spirit, even though Christmas is definitely not the same as it was when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing your exerience and I hope you find joy as the day draws closer.

That spiky ball is sooo nice!! I have one. I mostly use it to roll out my feet. It stretches my arches and helps with heel pain I get from standing on concrete all day for my job. I never thought of using it on my neck that sounds amazing

I feel the same. Normally I’m so excited to decorate and will do so the day after Thanksgiving, but this year…it didn’t happen. I just put up our tree and a few strings of lights last night. Like you, I have had a lot of other things to focus on. Hopefully the Christmas spirit will show up and stay for a while 😊🎄

Kalyn, this really helped. I just got covid, and I cannot have my normal family Christmas, and have to isolate alone in my bedroom. My fiancé tested negative, so he has been taking care of me as much as he is able to. Missing Christmas is the hardest thing for me. It breaks my heart because there’s hardly any restrictions on social gatherings where I live, so I could have went if I didn’t catch covid. Thanks for being a bright light in this dark time for me. I relate to what you have been feeling too much. I was so excited for Christmas this year in November, I put up my tree early, I thought I was gonna do all the holiday shopping and I had the feeling that this December will be amazing. Now, 15 days in December I feel exhausted, I literally have no christmas thoughts or spirit in me except from when someone mentions that christmas is coming, I have done 0 holiday shopping and all the days are jumbled into one in my head that I look at the calendar and think how it is the 15th? it is a very weird feeling because I am such a holiday person normally and this year I just don't feel it. I have no plans either, I will be seeing some friends and family but even this is still very scattered. I don't know if it's because it's the first Christmas after lockdown (at least for me last year was super weird) but I am learning that it is okay to not have expectations from holidays or the new year for once. I loved your tree and the deer in the snow! such a beautiful image! P.S your hair looks gorgeous in that color!

That sucks about the restrictions! We haven't had any new ones in Vancouver, but I wouldn't be surprised if we got some soon. We're hoping to have dinner at my dad's this year, which is what we've done the last 9 years (minus last year, which was the loneliest Christmas ever!) I appreciate your outlook though, making new traditions and just rolling with it. It's about all we can do these days... also I feel you about the holidays. I was so excited last month, and now I'm like "eh". I can't even be bothered to buy presents for anyone this year because I just don't feel like going to the store.

this is actually the first Christmas I'm celebrating since a very tragic house fire that killed my baby bunny back in 2019. I'm poor as hell and can't afford a tree lmao but I thought I'd try anyway, cause as poetic as being sad forever sounds, it doesn't make for a very fun life. it was nice to have a little break from all the Christmas craze for a couple of years tho. happy holidays Kalyn thanks for the video! xx

I don't think I will celebrate Christmas this year. I lost my Maman a while back and the pandemic really pushed me into the grieving process. For which I am grateful (repressing your feelings is never a good idea, especially for something this big), so, I don't really feel like celebrating right now. However, I wrapped a few gifts and I decorated a small tree, I made a few homemade candles while a listened Christmas music. I think I will celebrate my maman life someway, but this vlog made me feel a bit more of the christmas spirit. You always inspire me to follow the light and more important to give it to others as well. To me you are the Taylor Swift of KZbin. I really hope you all will find a way to clebrate the little things or the big things or even both this peculiar Christmas

This christmas I feel really grateful for my family, and am enjoying spending time with them after having basically not seen them for a year. Christmas is in the summer here, so it involves getting tanned at the beach and drinking wine lol. Tis my fave time of year

As the years passed by I became less and less excited for festivities. I din't feel the same magic feeling I used to feel when I was younger. I sort of blamed the enviroment I grew up in, but that's another story. Then I met my ex boyfriend...The most negative person I could possibly find. The person who struggles to find the light in any situation given. The person who thinks that his own birthday may become important after 30, when he'll start counting backwards...for the end. And he soaked me into this minset for a while as well... A month now after the breakup I'm mostly sure that I don't want to be like this person. I'm much stronger than this and even though things are still hard and uncertain worlwide, it is such a breath of fresh air to find little or big moments to celebrate. So this year I'm definitely celebrating Christmas joyfully (and of course safely)! I'm going to buy board games to play with the family, make traditional desserts and BE PERESENT.🙏And remember guys that there is always hope! The best things are yet to come!

I was very excited until my dad got covid, he’s in the hospital, I got covid, and then yesterday my mum got positive on covid. I don't think that this Christmas will be like the Christmas before covid even when we will do our traditional fondue with my grandma on Christmas eve and probably go to my grandparents on Christmas day but my father also has his birthday on Christmas day and I don't think we will be able to celebrate it like usually... Sooo that one deer totally told it's friends that you have the best snacks lol from what I've been told, they'll keep coming back & eat anything you plant until it's gone. Just be aware of that, if you don't mind them then just be sure you don't spend a lot of money on shrubs & stuff 🤣 I live in Maine & people wrap the trees. I've also seen some funny set ups to attempt to "scare" the deer away as well lol (mostly reflective stuff around bushes) I literally got into veganism from watching your videos 6 years ago haha so from one vegan to the other, I wouldn't know what to do 🙃😂 just some food for thought, love ya! 💖
