Takahashi confirmed that the entire concept for 3 came early in XC2's development, so yeah, it turns out that Xenoblade 2 was most likely planned the entire time to be Lost Jerusalem - especially because the Saviorite reference, which I didn't realize until now is supposed to be a direct reference to the Salvator faction So that's really the most mind-blowing bullshit of all, the fact that KOS-MOS' appearance was actually extremely plot-relevant despite seeming like a fun easter egg... holy hell they did it again

Basically giving the story beat in xenosaga that somehow earth disappeared from the cosmos do to the zohar experiment some real context. Xenoblade series being answer to the question, what exactly happend to make it disappear. I will also add the fact that perhaps because monolith were never able to realise there full vision while with namco, probably because namco didnt want too much support going to a niche series that didnt make a bunch of money. But now that xeno series is basically a nintendo franchise now, and they dont like to stiffle their creators visions, the xeno series finally has enough legs underneath it to finally be truly successful.

A common interpretation I’ve seen is that the two worlds merged almost immediately after Origin completed remaking them. Remember, the two worlds were going to destroy each other because the worlds themselves wanted to become one despite being made of opposing types of matter. Their destruction was the result of Annihilation, not reaching the Roche Limit. Once Origin activated, the two worlds would have been exactly the same as before, except now they would update be made from the same stuff. Everything else, including the worlds’ desire to become one, would have been exactly like it was before the Intersection. This is also illustrated in that the worlds appeared in opposite positions compared to when the Intersection happened. The worlds were destroyed and remade as if they never collided, and then immediately went in reverse to merge now that they were compatible.

Kind of a small thing that might not be a Xenosaga reference but has been in my mind nonetheless is the house that Na’el is next to, it looks really similar to the Sakura’s house in XS2 and the piano motif parallels Sakura only being able to express herself with a piano, I haven’t seen anyone mention this so I doubt it even more but I think about it more than I should honestly

They will be the next big bad of the future Blade games! Makes good sense with your mentioning of the core crystal technologies, which mesh very well with what Klaus told Rex in XBC2. Their fate/curse with immortality. What if the planets combining/fusing actually phase-transitioned the whole world back into Klaus' original universe? Their world would be like Lost Jerusalem, but now found. My crackpot theory is that the original universe has the Saviorite remnants in deep space, and they will come/return to reclaim what was lost (the planet and "conduit tech"). The people in the new world of these XBC games will be seen as "abominations of Klaus," to be exterminated, and some will be harvested.

With Xenoblade 3's themes of not staying in the past and moving toward the future, I was beginning to accept that Xenosaga would just remain a fond memory... And then Monolith Soft dropped the radio scene. Seeing the Vector logo and hearing Yuriev's name mentioned nearly made my heart explode. Having been a Xenosaga fan for over a decade, I'm afraid to put too much hope into the idea of Xenosaga being revived like this, but it would be so amazing to see :') At the very least, I think Bamco should re-release the saga games to make the most of the interest that's being sparked. Also, I think Bamco keeping the rights to Xenosaga is fine, as it should prevent all of the many religious references made throughout the games from having to be removed. Even if Xenosaga doesn't make a comeback, it's been pretty crazy to see the Xeno series continue to grow and succeed through the years. I hope Monolith Soft and everyone that's worked on the games are able to feel the support of the fans!

While XC3 had the major theme of moving on, it was in the context of the "endless now", essentially living in the present forever and never wanting to move forward beyond what is current. What Future Redeemed's message seems to be is that while moving towards the future is what we should do, we can't leave behind the past altogether. Alpha wanted to annihilate everyone of the old worlds and have only the new children of the City live on. So I think the themes and motivations in FR's story match perfectly with what was revealed on a meta level. While the creative direction of Xeno from now on is moving beyond Perfect Works, it's not abandoning the past continuity of Saga or those characters completely either. We may get nods to Xenogears and more references to Xenoblade X, too, going by how that radio broadcast connected to them as well.

It's worth considering that everything that happened pre-lifehold in xcx is given to us via unreliable narrators: first, Elma, who clearly knows more than she's letting on and has a history of lying to the humans, and second, human mimeosomes, whose memories are immediately suspect since they are robotic copies inhabited by digitised memory that could have been altered of falsified. Considering the ending of XCX straight up tells us 'everything about the lifehold is false', there's plenry of room for saga and X to coexist in that grey area of doubt.

Yes, I am very high on hopium and copium, but I refuse to believe the X references are just references and nothing else. Why bother putting such clear references to X in the very extremely important radio dialogue if it ultimately means nothing? Oh, and hey, remember that fun line Elma has in Xenoblade 2's DLC where she says she feels like her meeting Shulk, Rex, and KOS-MOS has some kind of deeper meaning? Remember that Xenoblade 10th anniversary art that very prominently features Elma and the White Whale? Something is definitely going on with X. Edit: I forgot about this when I was making my original comment, but Future Redeemed also has: -Divided tasks that can be likened to the duties of most of the BLADE divisions (Exploration is comparable to the Panthfinder division, etc.) -Ether Masts that function just like X's data probes -A device that looks like the comm devices BLADEs use and is also called the X-Reader, which is totally not suspicious at all -A singular Fogbeast Unique Monster whose name is formatted the XCX Tyrant way.

I personally agree. I think they want to return to XC:X as well. I think they will probably retcon it's story to change the reasons for their Exodus. It's a simple change and ultimately then it will lead into a new trilogy following the story of Elma and her crew.

Also, it's not like much would really be lost/changed, only really the way Earth was destroyed, and probably the Samaarians, the Ganglion, and the Ghosts (Those are basically the most important pieces of Xenoblade X lore but Monolith will figure it out.)

Assuming it is KOS-MOS falling to earth (and I think it is) there is no reason to suggest that X cannot be the next game. KOS-MOS showing up in Xenoblade 3 FR just ties it up, but what happens next? In a game about history repeating and the flow that cannot but happen, well it's fair to say earth starts again, humans start again, and eventually, we go to space to escape an alien invasion 😅 That said I loved X but it could do with a do over. Too many ideas jammed into one game that also shoehorned WiiU functionality. Great concept and a great starting point for the next series.

You're wrong about X not being canon. You're basing it on memories retold in X by characters who, we see it by the end of it, don't even know what they actually are... It's not reliable. Lin even says she has doubts about theat story and earth blowing up...

yeah, there are scenarios where X can fit with no need for retcons, only needing that they stick strong to the concept of eternal reocorrence. I myself can imagine one (well, two actually): On the merged "New Earth" (lets call it like that) from years after 3 ending, whose people (from 1 and 2) were already very tech advanced, go on to advance even more, and eventually depart to conquer galaxies, they are what eventually becomes the Samaarian federation (at the down of time, they came in from another plane, as per X, just like happened when the XC2 universe came in from another plane, to merge). They expand so much that at some distant future, the "New Earth" ends up forgotten/lost. They continue to evolve and change. Eventually at some point in the distant future, they decided to terraform yet a new Earth, or even, a new solar system (they have so much tech that they can make even this at this point), let´s call it Earth 2, and they make sure to guide evolution there to go as they see fit for their purposes, and then, bioengineer what is supposed to serve as their failsafe (Humans from Xenoblade X), and we know from X that the Samaarians have this level of bioengineering tech, from Xenoblade X quests. Or alternatively, they get to the point of technology of dimension travel (not far fetched, given what XC1/2 people tech did with Origin, and how much tech those people would have at this point I am describing, and the fact many universes is canon to blade), and apply all this to that dimension primitive Earth. More years passes by, Earth 2 evolved to the point where we see in the beggining of Xenoblade X. Earth 2, just like old "New Earth", also has get to a point of having a Coalition government (eternal reocorrence, so ok for the similarity actually), but Earth 2 does not have the Conduit nor the towers . Elma, who maybe could be a possibly modern Samaarian (maybe one of the few left, as the rest mixed and shaped to other races, as they expanded to become a mega galatic empire), that does not agree with the current path and ethics of modern Samaar federation, goes to Earth 2 and warns X humans of the imminent treat. White whale leaves Earth 2, and , "by coincidence" (there are quests that imply that may have actually be driven by some force), lands in none other then old "New Earth"/Lost Earth, there is, "New Earth" millions of year after 3 ending. Or in the other alternative I mentioned, this force that guided then to Earth 2 is what made them swap dimension (still believable given some of the phenomena surrounding Mira, like the Ganglion and the ma-non being led to there in a flash of light). Nopons were native of "New Earth" and unlike old Humans/now Samaarians, some remains there, which makes sense in this scenario. And the reason why humans did not die after the memory storage of the lifehold got wrecked, is because something in "New Earth" also has the capacity to store data and "souls", Origin, who was in "New Earth" since the merge between 1 and 2 eons in the past by now, (something about this planet). Meaning, that last shot in Future redeemed is indeed the white whale crashlanding, and those humans from X name the old "New Earth", Mira (the sequence gives no indication of how much time passed, could be on a cosmic scale as far as we know). Mira geology does lend it itself to this scenario, as, how merged XC1/2 worlds would look like after millenia has passed. As a extra, from the distance from "New Earth" of that shot in future redeemed, a human sized cyborg should not be possible to see, but a ship the size of the white whale could. So X happens millenia after the ending of 3, a time scale that has precedent in the franchise. And the eternal reocorrence do makes history in these two Earths flowing similar, credible, within what the franchise themes has worked on. Here is more believable than the retcons about Dimitri that and the others needed for Saga, for instance. Everyone getting so excited about that radio missing the point I think. Takahashi was finally able to fully realize and complete a saga. I feel like it was just mainly a huge easter egg and reminder of all the stories he started but never finished for all the fans who have been with him since the beginning. Though I also do not discount he is madman enough to fully realize the connections now that he has a very solid foundation to take off from. One thing is for certain, the future is extremely bright for Xeno.

I've been scrolling through this wondering if I should leave a comment saying something similar, but then I found yours and I agree. I do hope the Xenosaga gets a proper Remake a la FF VII or the Resident Evil Remakes - something that can do their intended scope justice. And heck, maybe Xenogears can one day get the same. Aside that I kinda wish the series stay in their own parallel universes (Xenoblade has more or less shown that to be a thing anyway) so that fans of either series don't have to play it ALL to be in the loop. Because while it all being tied together IS sorta neat, it could also get super convoluted with more and more WTF moments making no sense unless you remember all details of a dozen games (and I am already struggling with 3 Xenoblades :D). To tie back to your comment, yes, I saw that radio scene similar. As much as Future Redeemed seemed like a sendoff to the "Klaus Trilogy", the radio seemed like paying respects to the games that came before. Those without which Xenoblade would maybe never have existed. And in-universe yes, I can imagine that similar people and events happen in various different ways across different parallel universes. So maybe we do see Xenoblade versions of characters that also existed in Xenosaga AND maybe Xenogears in future games in different contexts. And along with proper Xenosaga Remakes, that I think would be awesome. But who knows what the future brings. Uncertainty we got in spades, but that's why we keep marching forward.

I think that it's not the radio who sells this idea but rather the blue dot at the end and how it mirrors Saga's ending. They could very well Remaster/Remake Saga (maybe even making | + || as a single game Remake and later just the third game) and include KOS MOS as a mysterious character in the next games then in the last one of this Saga tie better things with Saga's original intended ending. This is kind of what Saga was originally going to be if it continued, a tale of KOS MOS across different times while trying to stop the death of the universe.

They don't need to retcon anything from X, just give the proper context of the story in the sequel as only a fragment of it was present in the first game. The sidequests at least confirm it is set in the same continuity as the main trilogy, we just don't know the timeframe (and no, it's definitely not in the same period as the Experiment nor just after 3). As for Saga, they can just say that the Eternal Recurrence is the reason why the same events happened again with some small differences. They cannot force an artifical Eternal Recurrence after the end of Xenosaga 3, but this doesn't mean it can't ocurr through other means.

This would line up with the Mechonis' shoulder thingy being on Mira, or the single telethia on Mira aligning with the one telethia flying into the fog portal in Future Connected. Only one of thr points you bring up against X being canon has any weight, being the dates, the rest would take less retconning than what was done with xenoblade 1 to fit that in with 2 and the future of the series. It is very clear that their intentions is to make X canon and part of the same universe and they are pushing parts of it in to fit with lots of other incongruent lore from whole other series. The newest games newest lore supersedes old lore in this series, and nothing is just an easter egg, especially for such a plot important scene. You call it copium, i call it using real world logic that there are going to be very very minor differences when pushing lore from games that were not meant to be in the same canon into the same canon.

With hindsight, Mythra using the attack that looked like the Hilbert Effect at the end of Torna and T-elos and Kos-Mos being Blades is starting to feel less as fanservice moments and more as clues to the series connecting to Xenosaga. It wouldn't be impossible for the Trinity Processor to achieve those feats, all they had to do was look into the future. The Conduit definitely could allow that.

I don't know about this one. I respect the love that people have for Xenosaga, but I don't think it's reasonable to expect them to completely integrate a third party franchise into Xenoblade, even if they have the same developers. You're telling the X fans to not get their hopes up, which is definitely very reasonable, but then you act like the return of Xenosaga is completely confirmed and that doesn't sit right with me. I also don't think it makes sense to write X off completely, as I feel like there's a reason it was included in that scene. It's probably not canon to mainline Xenoblade unless there are some experiment/Samaar/alternate timeline shenanigans going on, but they wouldn't have put references to it in this important scene if they were just planning to continue ignoring it. What I think this scene means is that the next Xenoblade arc will have more similarities to Saga, but it will not actually be Xenosaga. However, this scene proves that Bandai Namco is willing to let Monolith create alternate versions of Xenosaga characters and integrate them into mainline XC/XCX like they did with KOS-MOS in 2. I could be wrong though. I honestly think that you can interpret this scene however you want, but it would be best if we didn't assume things to be true and fight over our headcanons. Great video, but you don't really make a good argument against the X connections. Like, eight years between the Saviorite bill being contested and the actual rebellion is totally reasonable, and all you say is "I feel like the timeline would be more condensed. The ship launching in July obviously isn't the White Whale, since we know the White Whale supports 20 million passengers--implying that technology is still being improved (and X mentions that there was a lot of disagreement in ECP about which technology to use for the ships' passengers). As for Earth being 'destroyed' in X, there are a lot of weird things about how it's depicted. For one, the explosion in the opinion cutscene originates from low-earth orbit--precisely where the Conduit is--and then the planet itself seems to explode from the core outwards in a flash of light. In XC1 and XC2's version of the Klaus flashback, light surrounds the earth, it shrinks down into nothingness, then explodes outwards from the centre point. Just on a visual level, those events are compatible--Earth disappears leaving behind a small amount of rubble in the main universe, while splitting off into two other universes in XC1 and 2. And, if you look closely in the opening of X, the moon disappears shortly after the Earth--perhaps following Alrest. This explains why Jupiter is implied *not* to be in either of XC1/XC2's universes, but Earth's moon is very much present around Alrest. Finally, the ending of X specifically states two things: 1. That before the White Whale launched, there had been 30 years of ECP preparation (which explains launches occurring eight years earlier) 2. That Lin hopes they'll be able to search for Earth/Lost Jerusalem once again--so clearly they don't believe 100% that it was destroyed.

Don´t understand the denial of X here. I guarantee you 100% in case Nintendo and Monolith decide to let X resurface they will and they WILL find a way to make it fit into the other Xenoblade games. Easier than Saga and Gears. X absolutely works as a part of the original Perfect Works concept as well as Gears as well as Xenosaga as well as Xenoblade 1-3. At this point it is more likely for X to get a Definitive Edition treatment like the original Chronicles which adds an epilogue of sorts to introduce it into the overarching Xenoblade lore officially than Saga getting this treatment.

One scenario, for instance, goes like this: On the merged "New Earth" (lets call it like that) from years after 3 ending, whose people (from 1 and 2) were already very tech advanced, go on to advance even more, and eventually depart to conquer galaxies, they are what eventually becomes the Samaarian federation (at the down of time, they came in from another plane, as per X, just like happened when the XC2 universe came in from another plane, to merge). They expand so much that at some distant future, the "New Earth" ends up forgotten/lost. They continue to evolve and change. Eventually at some point in the distant future, they decided to terraform yet a new Earth, or even, a new solar system (they have so much tech that they can make even this at this point), let´s call it Earth 2, and they make sure to guide evolution there to go as they see fit for their purposes, and then, bioengineer what is supposed to serve as their failsafe (Humans from Xenoblade X), and we know from X that the Samaarians have this level of bioengineering tech, from Xenoblade X quests. Or alternatively, they get to the point of technology of dimension travel (not far fetched, given what XC1/2 people tech did with Origin, and how much tech those people would have at this point I am describing, and the fact many universes is canon to blade), and apply all this to that dimension primitive Earth. More years passes by, Earth 2 evolved to the point where we see in the beggining of Xenoblade X. Earth 2, just like old "New Earth", also has get to a point of having a Coalition government (eternal reocorrence, so ok for the similarity actually), but Earth 2 does not have the Conduit nor the towers . Elma, who maybe could be a possibly modern Samaarian (maybe one of the few left, as the rest mixed and shaped to other races, as they expanded to become a mega galatic empire), that does not agree with the current path and ethics of modern Samaar federation, goes to Earth 2 and warns X humans of the imminent treat. White whale leaves Earth 2, and , "by coincidence" (there are quests that imply that may have actually be driven by some force), lands in none other then old "New Earth"/Lost Earth, there is, "New Earth" millions of year after 3 ending. Or in the other alternative I mentioned, this force that guided then to Earth 2 is what made them swap dimension (still believable given some of the phenomena surrounding Mira, like the Ganglion and the ma-non being led to there in a flash of light). Nopons were native of "New Earth" and unlike old Humans/now Samaarians, some remains there, which makes sense in this scenario. And the reason why humans did not die after the memory storage of the lifehold got wrecked, is because something in "New Earth" also has the capacity to store data and "souls", Origin, who was in "New Earth" since the merge between 1 and 2 eons in the past by now, (something about this planet). Meaning, that last shot in Future redeemed is indeed the white whale crashlanding, and those humans from X name the old "New Earth", Mira (the sequence gives no indication of how much time passed, could be on a cosmic scale as far as we know). Mira geology does lend it itself to this scenario, as, how merged XC1/2 worlds would look like after millenia has passed. As a extra, from the distance from "New Earth" of that shot in future redeemed, a human sized cyborg should not be possible to see, but a ship the size of the white whale could. So X happens millenia after the ending of 3, a time scale that has precedent in the franchise. And the eternal reocorrence do makes history in these two Earths flowing similar, credible, within what the franchise themes has worked on. Here is more believable than the retcons about Dimitri that and the others needed for Saga, for instance. This is just one example of possibly others where Monolith Soft, the actual creators of the franchise, could fit X without the need of retcons or minimal retcons, just the need to stick a bit strongly on eternal reocorrence."

As a player who has yet to play either Saga or X and don't really understand the lore of either two. I'm more with the X fans then Saga mainly due to them being nicer in general while the Saga fans are constantly insisting that the Xenoblade game's are tying back into Xenosaga. It feel like copium off based on the fact that people wanted a conclusion to the Saga games and less about the Xenoblade games. Even before FR, it was getting annoying back in 2017-8. Like I get the similarities but Xenoblade games has it own lore that are completely different to Saga in certain aspect I'm guessing. And because the amount of time, it happened on KZbin, Twitter and Discount has been done to the point that I have completely no interest in the game which now sucks because I've heard the Saga games story are good. Im really feel sorry for the X fans as I’ve been on the receiving end of the community trying to “Safeguard” people into having the right “opinions.” Coming both from a XC2 fan from the very beginning as well as an FE fan. And I get it, I’ve played the Saga trilogy so I was really excited as well with the ending of FR. But it feels like those fans have jumped the gun on speculating and proclaiming that Saga is now the “canon” series to Xenoblade Chronicles. And not, yknow…the game with literally “Xenoblade Chronicles” as it’s name… Monolith/Nintendo do not even own Xenosaga. They are games that are stuck on the PS2 and were not very successful on that platform. I’d be way more down for this kind of theory crafting if it was clear that Xenosaga was actually returning, either through Nintendo acquiring the IP or greenlighting an HD port of the trilogy. I'm more on the side that Monolith Soft will just remake Saga from scratch, Baiten Kaitos still holds up quite well and don't have future lore implications for anything, so a simple remaster suits it well. For Saga though, I doubt today's Monolith Soft would let a game like that slide with their name on it, I think they will rework it entirely and that will be the future games, which for me, Saga stories with Xenoblade quality would be the best timeline.

Ima be real, while yes the Xenosaga connections are stronger than X, both games would require heavy retcons to fit perfectly with the trillogy and in case of Xenosaga you'd arguably need full remakes of 3 games because just re-releasing them or giving minor remasters that don't retcon anything and dont make the games look substantially more modern, probably wont make them super appealing. Xenoblade X while still needing retcons, mostly in its opening cutscene, and needing a lot of overhauls to ditch the Wii U based menu-ing needs far less tweaks to its game to be appealing in and a Definitive edition has been begged for for a while. Personally I hope Monolith will work on both games series to fit into this supposed new canon but they would need to put way more resources and effort to make Xenosaga appealing to people than just emulate it unaltered on the switch, which people could've done at any time for the past 2 decades on PC, than X, which already plays like Xenoblade 1 but better.

I get it, X would need a heavy retcon and Saga makes more sense, blah blah blah. This level of "references" is not something to be taken lightly, though. Just like how the Saga references are clearly not being taken lightly. I literally don't get the idea that only one or the other has to exist. It's very clear to me that both are going to be tied in. They brought X back into the discussion for a reason, and it wasn't for it to be ignored again. Maybe it isn't in the same universe as the Klaus trilogy. Who cares?? Great stuff but it is really odd how you go through a bunch of math that we dont know really has relevance to the developers intention. I don't think most of the surface on the reveals we got have been scratched, dating all the way back to xc1 and prison island. It just seems weird to be so adamant on X not being canon and it is just a cool reference in the same scene you say proves xenosaga is canon. I don't think we can really know that and what this all means for Xeno, it does not mean they are trying to connect timelines especially when this whole game and dlc is about combining worlds. The way Rex and Shulk promise they will see them again also begs the question if we will get a game with them. I just think you exclude a lot of possibilities by asserting X story cant be considered in theories for what FC means, and I don't think the reasons why supersede how the game presents all of it equally. The way A ends with saying they have seen it all felt like a meta nod and i have always disagreed with you that XC games weren't considering each other, I think these ideas have been around a while.

I'm guessing 2 things. Either is Takahashi reimagining Saga's envisioned lore/events into Blade's or there's some strong story and timelines connection lore that we didn't know just yet between Blades and Saga. If it that is our original KOSMOS in FR ending, does that mean that similar events between Saga and Blades are occurring at the same time, but in different timeline and universes? Or, could the Earth-of events of Xenoblade affected directly Saga's timelore? But that's imposible. How could they're gonna match Xenosaga's Grimoire Verum Earth/Zohar experiments vs Klaus Earth/Conduit experiments?Also, there's one more thing. Now that you mentioned the words "blue light", it is worth mentioning that KOSMOS database entry on Episode 3 read as follows: "The battle over, KOS-MOS falls into an eternal sleep and drifts, like the passage of time, through the emptiness of space. A BLUE LIGHT penetrates her battered and faded figure. Perhaps that light will be the cause of a new awakening".

I got so many things to disagree with you on with the XenoX being de-confirmed allegations. Not that you don't have valid arguments but: - We do not know that the Philadelphia class ship launched in July was the White Whale. The White Whale could have been a newer model several years down the line, which would also explain the population discrepency. - We do not know that Earth was destroyed fully in that battle. Xenoblade X's main story EXPLICITLY DISPUTES this claim that the Earth was destroyed fully. What we do know is that Ghost antimatter engines fell to the Earth and caused massive damage to its surface, and there was a blinding white light emanating from the planet, which could very well be the light from Klaus's experiment - We do not have substantial enough reason to believe that the Saviorites being human rebels and the aliens going to war above us are contradictory. It is entirely possible that the Saviorites launched their attack in direct response to the aliens going to war, perhaps being religious zealots who felt that humans should not leave the planet and should die with the Earth or perhaps being enraged that the government kept the incoming invasion from them. - The only real contradiction between Xenosaga and Xenoblade X as far as I can see that can't be explained by a light retcon or recontextualization is whether alien species exist. - We do not know that the Xenoblade 3 Project Exodus and Xenoblade X Project Exodus are not the same. It is entirely possible that it was the evacuation plan in both 3 and X, simply portrayed as a "grand human achievement" by the government as an excuse to avoid talking about the incoming war. When the war did come, it became necessary to launch every remaining ship at once, as seen in the opening of Xenoblade X. If I hear any more arguments against XenoX being canon as I watch I'll reply with more counterarguments if I have any

As someone who very much wants XenoX to be canon, the whole Saga vs X issue of whether aliens exist is a pretty hard and significant problem, and given the Saga references here I don't see how X makes it into the canon. Besides, Takahashi did say X was supposed to be a spin-off, and while it isn't unlike him to change all that... I just don't see it as things stand right now.

The ending KOS-MOS cameo is pure speculation, albeit well founded speculation, on whether it is KOS-MOS or not. Consider, however, that Bamco owns Saga, not Nintendo. Yes, Bamco has allowed them to make use of Saga characters for references and cameos in Xeno2 and Xeno3. If Saga were to become fully canon, however, Nintendo's going to need the rights to Saga, and Nintendo is _not_ going to buy the rights to Saga from Bamco. By far the most likely interpretation of Ch 5, however, is that Takahashi is saying that both Saga _and_ X are NON canon. The message of Xeno3 was that you need to be able to let go and move to the future and not be weighed down by your past. With this in mind, it would be contradictory to the themes that Takahashi is clearly thinking about to try and revive either Saga or X. Meanwhile, the message of Future Redeemed is that you don't have to abandon your past to move to the future, you can take its spirit with you. And that's what's being said in Ch 5. Saga and X are not coming back. Their spirit lives on and will show in future projects as demonstrated by the cameos, but Takahashi is likely ready to move on.

@@jumponeverything Indeed, it would be extremelly weird for Monolith to, knowing they left the game of a cliffhanger, knowing that people are asking for a port and sequel, go on and put direct mentions to Xenoblade X (accurrate for Jap and Eng ) in the ending of the trilogy on a game they said would point to the future of the franchise, but do nothing with it. Makes no sense, if they intended to do just Saga stuff, there would be no reason to put this X mentions there as this obviously and rightfully would lead to a ton of people getting pissed off if they don´t follow up on it. As I showed, and unlike Luxin said, there are scenarios where X can fit without even retcons, but even if they put it just in another universe (which would still be canon since multiverse is canonical in blade), so they better do something with it on Nintendo next console, ideally, on the game 10th anniversary, 2025.

I think you're mixing up stuff that *can be* interpreted as a homage to Xenosaga with something that at the same time can also be applied to something entirely new or XBX-related. Fwiw, the new information from the XB3-artbook gives a lot of credence to a direct connection between between XB1-3 and XBX. I might make a video about it, but I really think you shouldn't get stuck on specific date numbers. Those can easily be explained away by various approaches; you yourself kept talking about time dilation et al, making one good argument for how XBX could still be related timewise. And that's without the new artbook-information. Whether any fans go "ballistic" when something doesn't happen, well, that's those fans' fault. We're Xeno-fans and love to theorize and there's nothing wrong with it. Some people are angry at Nintendo for "delaying Switch 2 to 2025" when it had never been announced for a 2024-launch. People be like that, lol. Anyway, I appreciate the effort you put in the video, but I will also be honest that I have grown to dislike how some Xeno-fans cannot let go of Xenosaga. Tetsuya Takahashi is capable of writing new stories and Xenoblade has all the depth to exist by itself. Surely, there's a lot of homages and reused elements to be found in the Xenoblade-games, but until confirmed otherwise, I'll believe that the light at the end of FR is Elma, and Xenoblade 4 will feature the mysterious hero that fought alongside Elma before the events of XBX on Mira. But that's just my theory.

This video really overestimates how much we definitively know about X. I love X but it's story is not the greatest source of information about its setting. it establishes very little definitively about it's past by delivering its lore through unreliable narrators, and then spends the whole story revolving around the lifehold only to reveal that the lifehold isn't what it told you only to end without clarifying any further. X is so incredibly open to being fitted into any circumstance because it's so poorly defined that it's arguably the greatest possible source of xeno conspiracy boarding Takahashi ever made. It's incredibly difficult to deconfirm X as canon, especially with aspects of its nebulous lore being brought into canon in one of the most important scenes of the xenoblade era.

Wouldn't be the first series to have one of those, and they seem to be great proving grounds for mechanics.

Just at the start of watching, I'm putting out my take that neither Saga nor X is canon, Takahashi's just reusing Vector and Dimitri same as the Zohar/Conduit, and that light is probably one of the colony ships from this version of Project Exodus or something. I don't think Monolith would even want to make Saga canon based on the metanarrative of 3. Directly returning to the story of a 20 year old game feels like one of the least "look towards the future" things they could do.

I think they're just going to take a lot of concepts and ideas from Xenosaga, Xenoblade X, and Xenogears and incorporate them into Xenoblade via rewriting retelling. They could use a lot for Saga, and sprinkle & mix in some Xenoblade x in with it. Taking games that didn't get a chance to reach their peak, and adding to the successful Xenoblade franchise would be pretty neat, and build into a new Saga

I own all 3 Xenosaga episodes in a droor with my PS2. I would absolutely buy all 3 again, and Xenogears for a 3rd time, if they were remastered, PARTICULARLY with updated graphics and modern quality of life, day one or earlier, no question, no hesitation. Either Monolith has the intention to unify all these games into the same series or they're all just non canon references. You cant have it both ways. But I wont just whine about it. Here's what I think they can do to make it work. In Xenoblade 2 Klaus claims the Conduit is a gateway to parallel universes. The predominate theory is that when Klaus activated the Conduit the world left its previous universe and split into 2 separate universes. With that lore in mind the way I believe Monolith will "retcon" the aliens into Xenoblade X is by them being pulled into the main universe by the energy that was given off while Klaus prepared his experiment. Then after the experiment happens send the White Whale into the alien's universe. It would explain why there seems to be 2 separate conflicts around the same time. X even says in the opening cut scene that the 2 alien factions just suddenly appeared but that they somehow knew they were coming. Maybe the trinity processor predicted their arrival from an alternate universe and that's why humanity started Project Exodus. I haven't had the opportunity to play X so I don't know if later plot points reveal conflicting info but this looks like a way they can make X cannon.

@@lavaeater5 I'm gonna say some things that will spoil X but only a little. An alien race known as the Ganglion were coming to earth to destroy humanity. They had this goal for a very long time due to humans being special but they never really dove into that much. The Ganglion are also in control of a multitude of alien races which we meet on Mira. Here's the weird part, we're all literally trapped on the planet and no one can leave. That's as much as I'll spoil. Your theory is plausible however, due to humans having had the conduit. Someone at some point put it there and from other xeno games we learn that it's been around since the creation of the universe and its purpose is to help races advance. Maybe when it was activated the aliens caught the signal. In xenosaga, which I haven't played, there were apparently no aliens at all. So this could add to the argument of pulling other aliens in. Reasons to love monolithsoft. So much lore but so little given at a time. Leaving us to speculate and eat up every detail when they release a new game lol.

I have some contra arguments, hope you go through it. Ok, first, you are putting way to much weight in that date mentioned, when it could also be simply a random date they chose without even cheking if such day and week date exist in the year they chose. You should have at least considered that possibility. While they do give attention to details, they also do forget things. Second, there is actually quite a large range of retcons that are needed to fit Saga (you touched some of it and a few others). In Blade canon, Coalition Government creates a research institution called Aoidos to study the Conduit, so not the Vector industries like Saga. In Blade canon, no Lemegeton and the Compass of Order and Chaos were found together with the Zohar like Saga. In Blade canon, Earth does not dissapear like Saga, after Klaus experiment, it remains there, in ruins, but there, and the Architect gradually rebuilds it to become Alrest (unless they really already retconned it infuture redeemed ending, which would be strange since in theory they planned 3 around the time they made . In Blade canon, the Conduit is there with the Architect when he is rebuilding Earth to become Alrest, for millenia, unlike Saga where the Zohar is taken with the Immigrant Fleet to planet Abraxas, as in pier piper, and this one point here is a big deal, since a change here is major. Hence, Saga clearly does not fit that well either, and certainly would require retcons. Now sure, Mono is no stranger to doing that, but it is important to highlight the extent of retcons needed on the Saga side as well. Third, there is a scenario which you did not fully consider (you did briefly, but not entirely and not seriously), and that requires no retcons, where X can fit, only needing that they stick strong to the concept of eternal reocorrence. And it goes like this: On the merged "New Earth" (lets call it like that) from years after 3 ending, whose people (from 1 and 2) were already very tech advanced, go on to advance even more, and eventually depart to conquer galaxies, they are what eventually becomes the Samaarian federation (at the down of time, they came in from another plane, as per X, just like happened when the XC2 universe came in from another plane, to merge). They expand so much that at some distant future, the "New Earth" ends up forgotten/lost. They continue to evolve and change. Eventually at some point in the distant future, they decided to terraform yet a new Earth, or even, a new solar system (they have so much tech that they can make even this at this point), let´s call it Earth 2, and they make sure to guide evolution there to go as they see fit for their purposes, and then, bioengineer what is supposed to serve as their failsafe (Humans from Xenoblade X), and we know from X that the Samaarians have this level of bioengineering tech, from Xenoblade X quests. Or alternatively, they get to the point of technology of dimension travel (not far fetched, given what XC1/2 people tech did with Origin, and how much tech those people would have at this point I am describing, and the fact many universes is canon to blade), and apply all this to that dimension primitive Earth. More years passes by, Earth 2 evolved to the point where we see in the beggining of Xenoblade X. Earth 2, just like old "New Earth", also has get to a point of having a Coalition government (eternal reocorrence, so ok for the similarity actually), but Earth 2 does not have the Conduit nor the towers . Elma, who maybe could be a possibly modern Samaarian (maybe one of the few left, as the rest mixed and shaped to other races, as they expanded to become a mega galatic empire), that does not agree with the current path and ethics of modern Samaar federation, goes to Earth 2 and warns X humans of the imminent treat. White whale leaves Earth 2, and , "by coincidence" (there are quests that imply that may have actually be driven by some force), lands in none other then old "New Earth"/Lost Earth, there is, "New Earth" millions of year after 3 ending. Or in the other alternative I mentioned, this force that guided then to Earth 2 is what made them swap dimension (still believable given some of the phenomena surrounding Mira, like the Ganglion and the ma-non being led to there in a flash of light). Nopons were native of "New Earth" and unlike old Humans/now Samaarians, some remains there, which makes sense in this scenario. And the reason why humans did not die after the memory storage of the lifehold got wrecked, is because something in "New Earth" also has the capacity to store data and "souls", Origin, who was in "New Earth" since the merge between 1 and 2 eons in the past by now, (something about this planet). Meaning, that last shot in Future redeemed is indeed the white whale crashlanding, and those humans from X name the old "New Earth", Mira (the sequence gives no indication of how much time passed, could be on a cosmic scale as far as we know). Mira geology does lend it itself to this scenario, as, how merged XC1/2 worlds would look like after millenia has passed. As a extra, from the distance from "New Earth" of that shot in future redeemed, a human sized cyborg should not be possible to see, but a ship the size of the white whale could. So X happens millenia after the ending of 3, a time scale that has precedent in the franchise. This way, unlike how you said in the video, makes this scenario more credible. And the eternal reocorrence do makes history in these two Earths flowing similar, credible, within what the franchise themes has worked on. Here is more believable than the retcons about Dimitri that you pointed for Saga, for instance. This is just one example of possibly others where Monolith Soft, the actual creators of the franchise, could fit X without the need of retcons or minimal retcons, just the need to stick a bit strongly on eternal reocorrence. Therefore, there is no stronger (nor weaker) evidence that their next project will be Xenosaga 4/Xenoblade4 rather than Xenoblade X remaster to X2 (like they said the intended to do when they also said they inteeded to do Xenoblade 3), and henceforth, both remain possibilities, and there are scenarios where X fits without the need of major retcons. Now well, they could actually do both things, the retcons to make Saga possible, where the Saga stuff and the Xenoblade Stuff are happenning more or less on the same time, making Saga 3 ending match the shot of some time after 3 ending, as suposed shown in future redeemed, and then, the scenario I described happens, where after millenia, X happens. This would give credential to that artwork that Monolith did where we have Shulk, Rex, Elma and KOS-MOS (and the Elma missions in XC2 DLC). But this one may require more adjustments that my scenario (and yours) does not account for.

@@rubedo_jr What that sounds like is that they just confirm that the Fermi Paradox is a thing in their universe the same as it is in ours. It isn't definitive proof one way or the other. Personally, I like that. Throwing aliens into it without any thought would make things even more complicated, but outright confirming that humans are the only intelligent life in the entire universe in the Xeno series would kinda just be a letdown and inconsistent with the wonder and scope of the franchise.

I dont know where the confirmation is coming from. Its a Logo and the Names. Yes i understand that its most likely but there is no confirmation until we see the actual xenosaga game. We got also something from X and Gears, but i dont think there is something confirmed either. So for now we have only some references, like KOS-MOS or Elma in 2. There are just so many Options and Theories for Saga and X (also but less for Gears) but thank you for the in-depth Look at the Saga Theory.

@@ZephyrK_ yeah xenosaga 4 will never happen but a ‘definitive’ version of those games in the likes of xc1 to line it up with the xenoblade world prior and/or after Claus’ experiment is still a possibility. I prefer to think that monolith isn’t going to buy out saga from Bandai and develop it cause I’m skeptical towards how well it’s sales would do in comparison to a future game with the Xenoblade ip such as X. But, there’s very little to base my presuppositions on so who knows.

Good theory and i heared from many people that the parallel dimension is a possibility (i thought since X that it plays far in the future of 1) but i think it could be even simpler. That earth is actually "destroyed" from the experiment and they go through space-time and simply fall on Mira which is remerged Earth. A very short Explanation but this is a easy Possibility. I also thought about all arguments against x and i think i could also think about arguments that dont deny X. But this is what i mean, they could fit everything in the next Game with no Explanation. But they also said the Claus-Saga is over, so i think we wont be getting any explanation anymore about the Reason the Universes split apart. I think we will be getting something new as a whole and for that also a standalone Game like they did with every Xenoblade Title (Game-Length-Issues). If this were True, i think KOS-MOS falling on Earth would be a bad Choice because it would require to play Xenosaga, even if it gets a Remake.

After listening to “Small to Pieces” (Xenogears’ ending song) and “Future Awaits” I have come to a very interesting meta interpretation of the post credit scene of Future Redemeed SPOILERS AHEAD * ** *** Riku is the Ouroboros form of Chu-Chu and Tatsu *** ** * Ok, here we go I believe that the blue light floating towards Earth in the last scene is neither KOS-MOS nor Elsa nor the White Whale or not even the crucified Chu-Chu falling to earth to save us from our sins: The light is actually…MONOLITH SOFTWARE The scene is like a meta-wink to the fans to show that Monolith has finally redeemed his future and went beyond the “endless now” of trying to repeat the Perfect Works story over and over again and is ready for something new. I believe this because both Xenogears and Xenosaga were supposed to end with the “Return to Earth/Lost Jerusalem”, but we never got to see this because both projects fell short and were cut before their expected end, so the idea of MONOLITH finally reacing Earth, finally going were Episode VI of the Perfect Works was supposed to go, it’s a very poetic and fitting end to this 20+ years experiment Name checking the 2 projects that they never completed (Gears and Saga) in the radio-scene might also be a sign of this, it’s their way to say to fans “Do you remember these stories we never completed? Stop obsessing about those, embrace the future, we are going beyond those, that chapter is finally closing” The last piece of the puzzle for me is “Future Awaits” Someone, once said “"Music is a mysterious thing. Sometimes it makes people remember things they do not expect. Many thoughts, feelings, memories... things almost forgotten... Regardless of whether the listener desires to remember or not." “Future Awaits” having the same singer and the same flute as “Small Two Pieces” from Xenogears it’s not a coincidence, it’s just another way to show that the series has gone full circle. The idea of trying again and again to complete the PW saga, started after the end of Xenogears and the refusal of Xenogears 2 by Square, is now over, in the same place where it started. The moment when the creadits of Gears ended and Takahashi let go of the future and fell into the “Endless Now” of trying again and again the rehash the Perfect Work story. Xenoblade brought to full circle what Xenogears and Saga started. Humanity has finally reached Lost Jerusalem. The Eternal Recurrence and The Endless Now are gone, we are finally beyond the cycles. Monolith Software finally reached the end of Episode VI of Perfect Works As what the future has in store, I have no idea. Future Redeemed core story is focused on the idea that we must not totally discard the past, but use it as a stepping stone towards the future. If I have to guess, the future of Monlith Software lies in the direction of Xenoblade Chronicles X, probably the only Xeno game that feels almost completely detached from the Perfect Works saga. A new sci-fi adventure. New planets to explore, new stories to tell. A part of me will always have the desire to see the Xenogears and Xenosaga stories retold and maybe completed, but in my heart of hearts, I can’t wait for what the future has in store from Monolith. … Or they just confirmed a Xenosaga-influenced Xenoblade X reboot and the cycle will go on and on until Tatsu will rise again to consume the souls of everyone of us. PS: in Summer 2018 at Gamescom I Met Katzuhiro Harada (the Tekken Boss) and we talked a Little about Xenosaga and the sadness that the HD Port project had failed. Ok so what i'm getting here is klaus's experiment is what poofed earth in xenosaga cus it split it up into 2 pocket dimensions, while the xenosaga dimension carried on as a 3rd before origin reunited the 3 at the end of xenoblade/saga 3. As for the question on how the zohar ended up in xenosaga, is it possible thats simply where it ended up after it vanished at the end of xb2? If they ever do make a xenosaga remake, i REALLY hope they just redo the whole thing from scratch. Gonna be honest but the gameplay and style just isnt upto standards anymore. If they redid it all in the xenoblade designs with maybe the xenoblade style combat (maybe optional mode for old combat too?) and then take that chance to rewrite any lore bits that need cleaning up and make it fit with modern stuff, i think it'd work much better You said that xenogears cant be after xenosaga cus of the dates, but can you not simply retcon the dates and names given they clearly didnt think they'd have to reboot the series twice more back then? I would say it'd be cool seeing a remake of gears later down the line but honestly is there any point anymore given that xb3 basically does that already? As for the whole xenoblade X thing, seriously if they went out of their way to include multiple references to names from X all for it to mean nothing in the end, thats just cruel if they know it would be a red herring. I do feel like now they're done with the mainline blade games they HAVE to go back to X at some point cus they literally left that story unfinished and riddled with questions with no answers Also you were saying that xenoblade X is still completely unconnected to the mainline series but that cant be the case either. Even if the backstory appears to contradict blades lore (and now saga's), that still doesnt change the fact that nopon make numerous direct references to xb1 in that game as if its known history to them. Even if you have to bring in something like parallel worlds or mira being some other aionios style mashed up planet pulling stuff from other dimensions/times (like was once a theory of yours), it still has to fit in the story somehow, which is all the more reason they need to get back and actually finish that story before starting a new series

Since they don't completely own XenoSaga and probably won't anytime soon, to fix the small issues they could simply do some retconning in a Remaster Trilogy (+ additional stories) that they'd take care of, but I'm not sure if it'd be something people would like to see, nor something they'd like to do, even. However, another completely direction they could go is make a retelling of XenoSaga through Xenoblade X: - Yeah, X is harder to make canon in itself, BUT when looking at Xenoblade 2 before release, there would have been no way it would be canon to 1, if it wasn't for the huge lore dump at the end. Same could happen to X in a X DE. - Speaking of X DE, they could totally simply drop Vector Industries as "just another weapon constructor" in X DE, then Make Dmitri an actual character in X 2, distinct from XenoSaga, although very much inspired from him. When I say "Xenoblade X's series as a retelling of Saga" I basically mean "as much as Xenoblade 3 was a retelling of Gears, except they're in good term with bandai namco and could actually reuse stuff, so probably way closer."
