A VERY Overdue Reflection on My First Year of Anime Figure Preorders (w/upcoming preorders)

so nice to see someone with similar ordering habits (which is to say, cancelling half their preorders lol). i try to be really mindful of what i buy and i'm not entirely sure what i want my collection to look like yet since i'm a relatively new collector, so i end up changing my mind a lot

same it used to be so bad, i got banned from amiami... so now I just wait until aftermarket, I could LOVE the prototype but hate the actual release. So now I just hold.

Preordering out of fomo can be such a tough habit to break. I ended up overbuying last year and I’m still trying to sell some of those figures. I’ve resolved myself to only buy discounted scale figures post-release starting next year. Maybe the only exception being Kris from Pokémon crystal (if she ever gets announced that is 😢). And nice job on the vid! It’s very pleasant to watch and I find your voice and art to be very soothing . So I’ll be looking forward to the next one, whenever it may be 😊

finally! some figure content on my page. Personally, I don't do many preorders, as I buy most secondhand. Most of my grails are much too old to get preordered now. I did preorder one grail, my lovely Vash the Stampede from Trigun Stampede! I love him very much, and that one got me being the deep collector I am now. I also have some figures now I'd like to sell based on preferences changing and such. I like this reflection! It's realistic. I see so many I want to buy but then I think..."Bucket..you haven't even seen/read where that's from!" haha! Think that's a struggle for any collector, no matter what the collection is, just with different circumstances of course.

I love Toradora and have ordered the wedding kimono Tiaga. When I buy figures, if I know the characters at all I tend to buy ones that seem true to the character. A Tiaga in a cat-suit doesn't seem like something Tiaga would voluntarily wear considering her crippling self-loathing over physcial developement.

Hello! I really enjoyed this video 😊 Being mindful about purchases is something I have been forced to lately and I now only preorder if the figure means a lot to me personally compared to buying every pretty figure I see. I also pre-ordered the Pinky Promise Sakura figure but it seems like Goodsmile didn't deliver to Europe as all my preorders with them as a new collector, inlcuding Zero Two wedding dress and Xenoblade Nia were also never charged from my bank. However I /did/ receive the pre-order Sakura postcard from them LOL. Very sad about that as Nia and Sakura shot up in price in the aftermarket and I weren't in a position to re-purchase them later due to changes in life situation/personal economy. Also I see you have the ikea BAGGEBO shelves, may I ask what you think of them? I've considered them bc of the awesome price but worry about the netting letting dust inside. But I must say your collection looks really lovely in them ❣

@@keiririn Getting familiar with online shops was definitely a learning curve for me 😅 But I honestly was quite surprised these orders didn't go through. I know Goodsmile has both a global and US site now however so maybe ordering from the Global site is what I need to do, but I'm honestly too scared to use them after what happened with so many of my most wanted figures. Back then they didn't differentiate between regions as far as I remember. Thank you so much for the heads up! 💕 I have actually noticed they're one of the few places that still have her in stock :D It's just a bit out of my budget atm unfortunately, but I do occasionally check in to see if they still have her. I see! Even Detolfs lets in some dust though and I must say for the price the baggebo are super tempting. I've even thought about sealing the netting sides with some other material somehow to keep out most of the dust but it might be harder than what it seems like in theory.

I have never preordered any figures (also extremely expensive to purchase them and get them shipped to Denmark🤣) but just saying the new Gushing Over Magical Girls figures are very tempting since it is simply the best yuri/magical girls series ever created, no discussion about that🤣
