I couldn’t help but giggle when you prepped us to look at the sink - I expected a mountain of sticky funky plates - but then you pan over and show us the cutest little stack of demure lady dishes. lol. And thank you for sharing your true self with us and trusting us with your vulnerability. You are so refreshingly human, and it’s a gift to show others we aren’t alone in these very real experiences and feelings. I’m glad you got to feeling better the next day. 🫶

A real funk from you is so much more honest and relatable than the phony, forced conviviality that exists on other creators’ channels. You know the ones - where everything is always sunshine and roses and smiling and so goshawful fake. Whoever first said “this, too, shall pass” knew what they were talking about.

Just an observation. You really love your space and maybe you were needing to spend more time in your safe space before you had to leave for an extended time away from home. Remember to honor, love and accept yourself right where you are. Life is both sides of the coin, we can’t have the joy without experiencing the funk as well. We have to sit in both, that’s just life. Sit in it, acknowledge it but don’t stay in it. Thank you for sharing your emotions with us and for being vulnerable. I hope your trip is successful and you have a wonderful time at your events. I hope as you wear your dresses you feel the warmth and love of your sister and mom. Thank you for this vlog. Cheering you on from Southern California !

I'm so glad you posted this. Again, Gail you feel to me so emotionally real, raw and while I'm sorry you were in a funk... it happens to all of us. I think you hit it on the nail ... clothes are super important. they are literally the first and immediate way of introducing ourselves to others. I lived in NYC for 10 yrs and in DC for 6 and I didn't figure out my clothes/style situation until 1. I became an artist and 2. I left the east coast and moved to Portland, Oregon where I've discovered people aren't expected to conform, nor look a certain way, nor be a certain way. Here people are encouraged to be and become their true selves. So long as no harm is done nor won. Which I think is healthy, fair and wise. I think you're a creative (you are) who needs to be in a more creative ... flow/career/lifestyle. Perhaps. I don't know. I see you from the perspective of someone who is needing and wanting to be more creative herself. You inspire me, and I thank you. (p.s. Hope you had a good trip) (p.s 2 neosporin works great on pimples, just keep clean and apply 2-3xday)

I’m so glad that you released this - we ALL get into this kind of funk (I’m in one right now actually, haha - 40 year old living in DC area!) and this made me feel comforted in being reminded that it’s okay and we all go through it. I do sympathize though - it’s not fun at all! Also, if you’re ever so inclined, I think a cool and fun video to watch would be you showing your photography gear and explaining what you use certain things for (without getting into any of your job specifics). I’m always intrigued by what other professionals use for their jobs! I hope that the funk passes soon and things feel better for you (and all of us who may be in a kind of funk).

It took me way too long to learn that when one of those days comes up, I just have to lean into it & accept it. The more we seem to fight those days, the harder the universe reminds us it is not our call to make. Like a rain storm, we just have to ride it out. I now take those days as a not so subtle reminder that no matter how much I think I am in control, there is a lot I have no say in. And when the clock hits 12:01AM, a new day starts. And yes, food helps, too. Hope you enjoyed your work events. You seemed excited about them.

OK kiddo, now is the time to take care of yourself :) Get enough sleep. If you are having trouble sleeping, play some relaxing music and take a warm bath. Do it up right with bubbles and candles. Meditate if you don't already. Get out of the house and take a walk. I was never into gratitude journals, but I do follow the example of Stacey Flowers and do a gratitude walk. I express how grateful I am for every little thing, and darn it if it doesn't help! Don't isolate. I know that's hard with your traveling, but be kind to yourself and know that you are doing the best you can right now. And lastly, this too shall pass. Promise.

The video is fine… Real life, real people, real careers and real moods…. that’s what it’s all about right? Just a suggestion… Try to bring a clothes steamer with you or double check that there is one in your hotel room and that can help cut down on prep time since things may get wrinkled during the packing/traveling stage anyway. Also, try to have things that can go with more than one item what is now commonly called a capsule wardrobe where let’s say a white button down blouse can go with a pair of jeans, pair of dress pants, under a sweater/cardigan, etc. that’s just one example but might be helpful to be able to mix and match so you’re not feeling like you have to have a separate outfit for every day. Also tap into hotel dry cleaning and laundry services that could be helpful if something can’t be worn a second or third time after wearing it for work. Your career sounds like a great one and I’m happy for you. Sounds like you found something you really like.📸🎥

You're very wise to keep info about your work off of your channel. Some creators don't and end up in hot water. Your skin looks good to me, but since I had breakouts well into my 30s and tried many things, I'll offer this tip: Serious Skincare's glycolic cleanser was the best at clearing my skin (which didn't have severe acne but maybe more than yours). I'd even tried prescription remedies, but I found that cleanser to be the best. They also have a benzoyl peroxide product, but I found the cleanser to be best for me. I recommend it to everyone and still actually have it. I use it in the summer when the heat and pollution make my skin feel gross. Try ONE bottle only and see whether it works for you. You might get some very fine peeling for 2-3 weeks after you start while your skin is adapting, but no redness. Just gently buff it away with a damp washcloth. That brand is at QVC and they also have their own web site.

Perhaps you could gift yourself a session/sessions with a Wardrobe consultant. They can help you build outfits based on your job environment. Having outfit options pre-established, might help eliminate some of your stress. 😊

You know what? Putting a couple of dodgy looking sharks on your wall might but a smile on your dial 😊

I felt so bad for you. You seem like maybe you could be a little bit hormonal. December can also be stressful. One piece of advice ,allow yourself some grace and know everything will be OK.. Luv the shoes perfect choice on the dresses.❤

Packing is the worst I am going on a trip in mid January and just last night I was already stressing about how I should iron the clothes I am packing! The brain is really an uncooperative beast at times

Every vacation I go on, I buy new outfits! Especially if I am traveling to a warm destination. That's when I show the MOST skin lol. But the packing does suck... especially when trying to pack work out clothes too... Same girl, same.

I always packed my camera gear first. Most of the time I go for comfort when working. Shooting is so absorbing & I did a lot of Candids so I never knew what position I’d wind up in to catch “that” shot! LOL I have done a very formal wedding in Brazil. A gown was required. Can you picture me running in & out of the cathedral? I wasn’t allowed to walk down the side isles so I had to go outside & around to other side entrance to catch the ceremony. Cameras, holding the gown off the ground, running in heels! I laugh…now. Packing sucks. That sink is fine. All of those things will be there when you have more time to address them. When you’re tired, the funk is almost inevitable. Sleep will usually cure it. Hormones are also terrible culprits. We accept you as you are, not how you keep your home or what you eat. I hope your trip goes well. Hugs.

Packing is a headache. I just returned from a ttrip to Florida and deciding what to pack was a chore even though I previously check the weather there. I could have done more. Had a wonderful time anyway

By now you are in Washington and perhaps some jitters are gone ? Is it the formal attire and events that make you anxious ? Just an FYI There is a product caed Febreeze Wrinkle Release...spray it on the wrinkles and shake them out. Works better if you know your outfits ahead of time and also put them hung for a while in the steamy shower after you showered. Can also pour some into a small spray bottle in case things get wrinkled on arrival. You've got this !

When I have a bad day…I just let it happen…go to bed early and know that it will be better in the morning. I also allow myself to eat and drink what I want. 😏

I stayed until the end, wasn’t bad, just felt bad that you’re stressed out over packing! Try starting with your glasses, they’re dated and make you look much older than you are, something alittle trendy and fun, be brave!! Then get some classic staples, black trousers, white cotton shirt, stay classy, avoid frumpy❤️you’ve got this!! I find getting a new haircut always spicy things up!😉

Yes I think I need more solid staples! & I really like my glasses haha but we all have different opinions 🙂

By the way - your lipstick and high boots outfit was awesome - I know the heels can be too much if you are planning to walk a lot - nice for other days though.
