Hello from Phillip Island. First of all I'd like to say a massive thank you to you personally, as well as all the TM's & all other marshals & people involved in putting on both TT & MGP. Isle of Man is my favorite place in the world, not just the racing, but everything. My partner & I are so keen to get back next year. She just loves the racing as much as I do. I marshaled at MGP in 2019. My first time there was TT 1989. I would love the MGP to go back to 2 weeks, better for the local economy etc, etc. All the best.

Hi, I came across for the Southern and Manx this year and despite the weather I really enjoyed it, I just love being on the island with like minded people who love bikes and road racing. I always end up making new friends and great memories, and I lost time the number of times last week I said one of the highlights is watching the TM's go past 😂 always on the pipe 👍👍 Sincerely thankyou to all of you and everyone involved for everything you do ,the Manx is an amazing event and God willing I will be back next year as the saying goes " The show must go on " , thankyou again and please keep the vid's coming, really enjoyable😊😊.

I met Ian Lougher a few years ago. Top bloke at the UGP, NW200, Scarborough. One of the few riders that Joey and Michael Dunlop trusted to race close with. There where a few incidents two riders in hospital hope they recover in the coming days and weeks. The Riders know it is dangerous but they love Road Racing and so do i.💪

Great insight and common sense. Thanks for giving us a better understanding of what went on behind the scenes as we suffered delay after delay due to conditions, and thank you to all the marshalls without who the event couldn't have run. Fingers crossed for a return to a two week MGP before long!

Please if you can keep us posted with the tms and any other information about the TT. IE what if any roadworks needed on the course, funny story you guys may have. And thanks for all your videos this year. Keep up the great work. Enjoy the rest over winter. 👍🤓

What a great set of programs, I came across it whilst over for the Southern 100. Please do more over the winter! You mentioned in this video that Richard lives off the Island. I thought that it was a condition for all TMs to live on the island. Also, I would love to see Tony on one of the videos, I was on the grid (some way) behind him for both his MGP wins.

Thanks for keeping up these videos, they give a great insight into the event, and as a Marshal it helps me relate even more to how everything works together. And thanks for the waves and ackowledgments from you guys as you come past our various marshaling points on the mountain!

From memory, there were years that they struggled to get Marshall’s by the end of race week so I can understand them trying to shorten the event to overcome that but I think a happy medium would be to make Wednesday the last race day. We started coming to Manx every year from 2000 but we always had to come Wednesday to Wednesday the way our boat ran. The ManxGP is an amazing event. I really hope they can extend it a bit more to keep everyone happier. Love your videos. Wouldn’t miss them. Thanks for doing them.

Thanks you for the content, please keep it coming! As 'fans' most of us appreciate the organisers, marshals etc but don't often get to fully understand what actually goes on and why things happen as they do (delays, changes to schedule, why a TM has passed where you're watching and what you actually do etc (thanks BTW) these 'vlogs' really help to explain it all. Just a thought - maybe a chat with a sector/chief marshal might encourage spectators to sign on if they understood what to expect and what the requirements are and how to sign on (some people at the TT & Manx that I've spoken to seem to assume that once signed on it would mean marshalling for their full stay and don't want to commit).

I think everyone wants to see full races but as regulars to the racing at the Isle of Man we know there are many factors to come together to make that happen. People just get disappointed who have come a long way. The good years have always outweighed the bad by far. What a great event. Thanks for these vlogs. I look forward to everyone of them. Great true information and facts, real interesting. All the best to you and all the Marshals. Thanks. 🏍️❤️

Great videos, i have been coming to the TT for 52 years now and only missed a handful of them, the videos are a great insight into what's happening behind the scenes that i personally didn't realise the responsibilities you TMs have to deal with throughout the racing, its certainly opened my eyes watching the videos. I got a couple of shots of you with the Marshalls at Kirk Michael this TT when I was watching on the banking. 🏍👍

I agree that the Manx GP needs to go back to being over two weeks. The weather is too unreliable it's as simple as that. The event needs the breathing space to allow full races to go ahead in the right conditions. If this doesn't happen, riders and spectators won't want to come to the event, have it ruined again and again. The MGP is vital for the longevity of the TT its a breeding ground for new riders coming through. Cutting the MGP down has clearly not worked it should be enhanced not shortened. It should be promoted more it could be bigger than it is. It's an historic event that should remain the same as it always has been . Sorry for going on ...Great channel keep up the good work god work 👍

Hi mate, enjoyed your videos, I'm a regular TT visitor I'm there every year also been to the Manx quite a few times, I feel a bit sorry for the Manx GP lads and lasses as you never get a lot of fans watching them, then the top boys turn up and I feel like the newcomers are just over shadowed, this year's TT and GP obviously not been great but it is what it is, you can't do anything about the weather but I find, please don't take this the wrong way but there's not a great deal to do on the island when it's wet and pretty miserable sorry about that, I'm not having a dig, I love the island it's a beautiful place, anyhow I reckon you should try and interview milky quayle that would be mint, soz to waffle on and cheers for the vids ride safe bud. 👍👍👍

I think I saw this chap respond to the nasty crash at Creg ny baa. It was very impressive to witness the system spring into action to give the rider the best possible outcome. Well done for lol the prior planning and training. Best wishes to WA and a speedy recovery. As an aside, how these Marshalls accelerate off on their Fireblades is bonkers, listened to a podcast with a Marshall who described it as a bit embarrassing when they overtake racers on the Manx Gp😀
@jamesbaker45822 ай бұрын
You are right about the 2 weeks. The thing I don't understand is why the manx isn't promoted more for 1st time visitors, it's cheaper. I challenge anyone to not be stunned by a bike doing 100+ mph average laps, compared to 136 if they've never had that proximity before

Is there any onus on the ferries/hotels to reduce prices to keep the event going strong?

I live in Northern Ireland and it has basically rained for the last 14 months so no matter what outdoor event you want to organise it all comes down to the weather barbecue birthday party days away anything outdoor depends on the weather as the Americans said when they were based here during the second world war it’s a great wee country if it had a roof on it. I presume the Isle of Man has much the same climate
@neilecob90192 ай бұрын
What jackets are you guys wearing?
@mikephelan5632 ай бұрын
The GP has always been a stepping stone to the TT. From memory you had to have competed in the GP before you were eligible to enter the TT, not sure if that still stands.
@petersykes88912 ай бұрын
Please don’t go radio silent of season try and keep up content maybe speak to some racers and their experience with Marshall’s and stories related to TT/racing or not maybe just stories and memories anything that paints the TT/MGP in a good picture eg. Dean’s family video of him moving to the isle and Lee Johnston and his family(Lee’s channel is absolute quality)good luck pal. Keep it up🇮🇲🇮🇲🇮🇲🇮🇲🇮🇲👍👍👍👍🏍
@phillee28142 ай бұрын
If you're going to run it as a one-week event, you don't want to be holding it on the Isle of Man, and if you want to hold it on the Isle of Man, it needs two weeks to give the flexibility needed to cope with the weather. And the MGP is 100% necessary for the TT to survive. Marshal '86-'98 at both, although some missed.
@Mark-m1i9u2 ай бұрын
Is there a reason why the Manx Grand Prix isn't before the TT? Would seem logical to me. Would give both races greater marketing/media reach.

What is your most favourite and your least favourite parts of the TT course, and why ?

The best bit is Bray Hill to Governors Bridge :-) Could do a whole video on which parts I particularly like and don't like & why, but I think it may be a bit boring

What’s your thoughts ( if you’re allowed to share them) on bikes being sent the wrong way on the road Jonathan?
@tttravellingmarshals72072 ай бұрын
No problem with that at all. I was in that convoy. I was the tail end TM. All vehicles on the course have GPS systems now so every vehicle is visibly on the race control map. Even with that said, we also stuck to the left hand carriageway for extra safety, and as always the LTM who went right direction at the end of the session, was also told to stay on the left hand side. All vehicles after the red flag travelled in the left hand lane only with no exceptions until the new road closure the following day.
@snappo202 ай бұрын
perfect, that’s kind of what I expected, cheers for the reply!

@petersmith94702 ай бұрын
Safety is always paramount, weather is always unpredictable on the isle. Rather have a cancellation than see another red flag. Back to the way the Manx used to be for me too. Thanks to the Marshalls and the orange army again, no racing without them
@mv4ago2 ай бұрын
Nobody would complain about a 20 lap race around Aintree and that would only be 30 miles.
@uonlyliveonce2 ай бұрын
I'm no expert and have been over to IOM many times. But why not run the races no matter what the weather. The racers then decide to race to their maximum ability for the conditions. If they don't like the conditions, then don't ride.
@tttravellingmarshals72072 ай бұрын
Beside anything else, if the weather is 'bad' that typically means it'll be low cloud and visibility is the issue for airmed and like I said in the video, if the helicopter can't fly, we don't race.
@kenoshea23032 ай бұрын
