Wow, this brings back some memories. They were music royalty in a way. Linda is Sam Cookes daughtet, and Cecil was Bobby Womacks younver brother. He wrote, produced, sang and played guitar and bass. Incredibly talented and influential in the 80s and 90s. Please try their song "Love Wars". Very powerful and quite the vibe.

You MUST MUST listen to Bobby Womack who was Cecil Womack’s older brother. You can’t say you’ve taken a deep dive into soul until you’ve heard Bobby Womack. Start with “Across 110th Street” which was his biggest hit then get ready to get your heart ripped out with “If You Think You’re Lonely Now.

This was not their big US club hit. Their absolute banger was Baby, I'm Scared of You. DJ's would mix the drive over and over and people would lose their minds. I saw them perform in a club once. He was assured and assertive onstage. She was shy and sang in a sweet little voice. Both came from soul music royalty. His Brother is Bobby Womack, famous for marrying his mentor Sam Cooke's wife just 3 months after he was shot to death. Bobby Womack had several notable R&B hits in cluding: if You Think You're Lonely Now, Daylight, Looking for a Love, I can Understand It, later covered by soul band New Birth, I Feel a Groove Coming On❤ Linda Womack is the daughter of Sam Cooke. Gasp! Give Baby I'm Scared of You a listen. Then prepare to dance.

Aah this brings back memories, great song. A steady beat and a good lyrical melody, that's all it has... and all it needs! The vibe they capture just go straight to the "enjoyment center" in our brains, it forces you to relax but also move, forget about the world for a few minutes. To me it is an art to make music like this, removing all "noise" and just giving the essentials that directly connect to our souls.

You guys should react to the live version of their song "Missing persons' bureau." Because Cecil led the performance as a giant congregation, with him as the priest and the audience as his church. So glorious to see how good he was. He later changed his name to Zekkariyas. And the band itself was now called The House of Zekkariyas. He and Linda moved to South Africa, where they lived until he died in 2013 at the age of 65.

Other songs in the same style worth checking out would be MJ Cole - Sincere and the Sugababes version of 'Flowers' (a cover of a group named Sweet Female Attitude) Its deff a very smooth genre and it'd open up an entire new rabbit-hole to go down 🤣
