It's not that simple, unfortunately. There wasn’t one version with the content and the next without it. Some content was there at one point, then removed, then something else was added, and later that was removed too. The often-discussed "cut content" comes from the entire development cycle. Some of it was never fully developed and was just a placeholder that was never finished.

@@wittywolk 100%, most people fail to realize that. That's why we hear stories about how something was "originally" supposed to have xyz. The origin is the game's release. Anything before that is usually not fully fleshed out. Most of the time it's barely a concept. It's extremely rare to get something into a playable state and then just... not use it.

I wanna see the builds shown from the Prima Strategy guide. Those builds contained notable differences such as different police cars, Tommy's bluer shirt, and the weapon icons had gradient backgrounds (like the final game's detonator).

We live in a historic time. After all, earlier Rockstar and Take-Two kept their early prototypes (beta builds) as a holy grail from the leaks. I only dreamed as in Beta GTA III and GTA SA I play). I hope to leak much earlier builds of GTA Vice City and all other titles of GTA ) ) ) Rockstar's Iron Curtain is collapsing in front of everyone's eyes. . . P. S. This Build probably not from a month before release. It probably compiled only the 5 days before final build and game went to GOLD. But despite that there are so many differences in it. Great year for Vice City fans, damn. We got that port of the original VC to the GTA IV engine that released, and then the devs made it standalone, GTAVI is coming out this year (probably) and it's set in HD-ified Vice City, and now there's a working pre-release build of VC that got leaked, all in one year. I imagine this'll be a really good resource for modders still futzing with the 3D trilogy as well as game preservation, probably gives a ton of insight into how the game works, making reverse engineering for the purpose of modding even easier. Granted, with the RE project having already been released and still being available, I can't imagine there's too much more left to figure out, but hey I could be wrong. Really hope there's some early builds of San Andreas floating around somewhere that end up getting leaked, I'd love to mess with that.

I am gonna be blown away if we will see early builds of GTA San Andreas. I remember reading some game magazines and earliest screenshots of San Andreas were from the build that very likely utilized the Vice City’s RW engine revision I.e cars, animations, etc

With this out, I hope one day we get builds for the other 3D era games. There actually was a devkit being sold with an unfinished Xbox build of San Andreas, however whoever got it never dumped it online sadly. It used similar debug features found here, and in the various releases of GTA III.

One thing you're missing is some of the builds dumped from HDDs are partly corrupted, they either need work doing to them or they just don't know how to get them working. Obviously, if they released them in a broken state someone may be able to fix them but in the meantime theres broken builds people aren't releasing because they're broke.

Is the debug menu part of the core code, or part of the scripting? If it's part of the scripting there's a heavy chance it could be ported over to SA with probably low levels of success :p

I’m not a lover of vice city, I found out recently I have never actually played original vice city, I was playing vice city stories as a kid. I thought it was alright, but similar to GTA three I just sort of liked GTA San Andreas better blew my mind when I found out I could play that one in co-op with my mate.

Even tho it reads "page 1" there do not appear to be any more pages, if it exists it will likely get posted to the GTAForums thread. Having said that, this does do the usual GTA pre-release thing of having some debug stuff 'hidden' under the second controller, so go mess with that i guess ^_^

Is curious that now are appearing leaks of old build and even the source code of GTA V in a time when both Rockstar and Take Two are enforcing their autority against mods, fanmade projects (even without including assets like re3/revc) and even taking down interviews, documents and youtube channels.
