I found this channel because of Kingdom. This video is nostalgic is a way that makes me feel good. Thanks for the years of distractions well spent.

Hey Odd, did you make any video announcing the game you were working on? That's news to me. But awesome to hear that, I would like to learn more about it. Cheers!

I haven’t yet, that’ll come soon when we’re closer to release but here’s a video SplatterCat did of an early Playtest kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJOonICjm9OFnc0si=egZowWnVnOyCcbqJ

Odin giving tutorial hints somewhat undermines his grandeur lol

Or elevates the PC.
@iainjames3137 ай бұрын
@@Lyonatan I didn't mean it that way, just that having the God give you mechanical tips about how gameplay works somewhat takes away from immersion. "Here's how you unlock new upgrade slots!" is something a game tutorial says, but they didn't need to have Odin be the one to say it. Tool tips would have worked just as well.

I love pixel games and also love strategy! Not super into the move block by block strategy but I love games like this and backpack hero. And also love seeing the pacific pounder (currently watching). I would love to see more of this game! You are definitely my favorite playthrough content creator because you play games much like I do. You like to get into the game and read things/look for things instead of just powering through. I love it! Thank you for all the fun times over the years!

Man, now I want to think of base building mechanics, haha! This looks pretty interesting, viking fighting non-stop. So wild that it's hard to know when or how to stop playing for a bit, lol! I feel like I could really dig some more of this. Thanks Odd for all the amazing content you make!!! 😁

Seems like as long as bad guys only come from one direction, it makes sense to devote backline building slots to upgrades/resources only and rebuild offensive unit producers like barracks in forward outposts

I don't know if it's because I was born in the 80s but pixel art appeals to me more than the cutting edge graphics of modern AAA games. Definitely a stylistic preference.
@l0rf7 ай бұрын
I think it also has a chance to look good in 10 years. Because it has a strong style instead of just substance. Warcraft 3 honestly still looks good 20 years later but realistic graphics from then today look laughable.

Too much text :| i really don't like the tutorial xd
@jackcoleman17847 ай бұрын
Man would you not have survived in the 70s to mid 90s where if a game had story in the first place you were lucky and if it did it was entirely text. There were RPGs that shipped with entire books that you had to cite and look up pages in using a number or code the game gave you in order to know what was going on or what someone was saying. And that was considered an innovation because it saved on memory so you could have more of the actual game.
@juanfranciscoconchabastian45647 ай бұрын
xD dude that writting was interesting and, the way you put it, was interesting because there was an innovation. Is writting in this game is terrible. Here is Odin, the mithy all knowing God, lower to a simple NPC that explains to you explicity how the mecanics works. Or the old man, what is he's purporse ? Yell at you that you have to do this or that, telling you exactly what you have to do. Roguelikes game excels at the narrative because not all is explains all at ones, you have to discover the mecanics

looks like this game is made by americans with NO regard for actual norse mythology. Odd, buddy i love you, but this Marvel-esque space-viking- bullshit is.. sad to see again and again.
@LucklessLovelocks7 ай бұрын
Nope. It's made by Europeans. Norse mythology is something that's been passed down through the generations and is coloured by the story teller. There really isn't a pure Norse mythology. The most common interpretations that you're basing your opinion on is also bullshit is what I'm trying to say.
