I am so stoked! I televised a basketball competition in the Ballroom years ago, and went exploring... The relay cable had been cut, the chambers were filthy, the console was under an old stage curtain, it was heartbreaking to see. To see the organ and hear it in this better than new condition puts a spring in this old man's step. A great big Texas Howdy and Thank You! to all who have accomplished this incredible work!

Fabulous sound, I would say one of the greatest orchestral organs in the entire world, perhaps the best. I must come to New Jersey to hear it in person. Then take a trip on the Cape May - Lewes, Delaware Ferry and visit the Dickenson High School Auditorium in Wilmington, Delaware to hear the Kimball organ in that location. These are two of the greatest organs on the planet!

This sounds fantastic! Thank you Nathan and crew for a wonderful job. Columbia Organ Leathers was thrilled to be asked to provide the leather for this project.

I used to help maintain the 4m/37r Kimball that was in the Wilturn theatre in Los Angeles. It was very much a sister to this magnificent instrument but now removed and sold as parts. I mis it profoundly.

an organ that sounds like a real orchestra rather than an organ! just the reeds have such a beautiful and defined sound and when I heard the strings I said to myself " this cannot be an organ... Reaaly really beautiful! Wish I could hear it in person one day...

Wow this is amazing! Beautiful sound. Must be an empowering feeling to be able to play an organ like that, one person playing the entire building and sounding like a full on orchestra all by themselves

It's probably the most overlooked pipe organ ever, seeing as how the largest and loudest one in the world is in the same building.

Let's hear Rachmaninoff's arrangement of Our National Anthem played on this thing in Full Organ mode w/ all the speaking stops, couplers, etc activated

@@RockStarOscarStern634 I might like your recommendation more as organ, you're right. It seemed to wander too much for my tastes. I want that piece to be either slow but majestic, or fast but with power.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!Glad to see and listen to this organ play again?Was this the one that had a roll player?Does it work,too?Glad the organ has risen from the silence!
@BoardwalkOrgans3 жыл бұрын
The organ did indeed have a roll-player and all of the components are still with the organ, but it has not been restored and put back into use yet. We do plan to restore it in the future!

Spectacular organ. pity that in Europe these musical instruments are almost non-existent. does anyone know if there are CDs of this magnificent instrument?
@KingdaToro2 жыл бұрын
HORC has released two CDs recently. Deck the Hall has two tracks on the Kimball, The Big Screen on the Boardwalk has five. All the rest are on the Midmer-Losh.

Whats the name of the piece?
@BoardwalkOrgans3 жыл бұрын
This is actually a piece that Nathan composed and is used for a silent film score. We borrowed the audio for our tour. At the very end when he is playing you can see his laptop on the top of the console with the video playing on it. Look on our channel for his full concert on the Kimball which includes the silent film!
