A visit to Šibenik, Croatia | Life & Histrory of Šibenik | Travel with me

Hi Guys ! As you know i am on my Erasmus mobility to Croatia. This mobility period gives me a lot of opportunities to visit the historical places and natural sites in Croatia. I feel really blessed for getting this fully funded opportunity.
This all started with my journey of #studyinitaly and nowadays i am travelling freely across europe and enjoying the natural and historical places. This video is all about my trip to Šibenik, which is an historical city located on the adriatic coast of Croatia. It is one of the old croatian native cities on the Adriatic coast and first mentioned in 1066.
Šibenik is also the first lightening city in the world whose street lights were powered by a polyphasic system of alternating current. The world's second hydroelectric power plant "Jaruga" was first built in Šibenik which supplies electricity to power 340 street lights in Šibenik in 1894. The remains of this power plant is still present in KRKA National Park.
Šibenik is also one of the five cities in the world that has two #UNESCO heritage sites, St. Nicholas Fortress and St. James Cathedral. This city Šibenik is also on the bucket list of architectural lovers. The construction of St. James Cathedral lasts 105 years from 1431 to 1536 and it was protected by UNESCO in 2000.
One amazing fact about this city is that the person "Faust Vrančić" was born in Šibenik in 1551 that invented the parachute. The famous basketball player "Drazen Petrovic" was also born in Šibenik.
You know the famous series "Game of Thrones" and in three episodes of 5th season of Game of thrones, the city Šibenik is shown as "Braavos", the city of iron bank.
