Its interesting to think that this little scene where giancarlo esposito chose to play "man who sells chicken" with a subtle menace resulted not only in him launching one of tvs greatest villains, but also took him from character actor to one of hollywoods most recognizable actors and one of the best villain actors to have ever lived And it all began here

Yeah, every time I see a villain I say "Giancarlo would have done it better". Specially if it's a corporate villain. He killed it in The Boys.

There is no menace at all in this scene. He only has that one line of dialogue just to show audience that it's Giancarlo Esposito and as he was quite big name he must have some bigger role as well. Foreshadowing. To Walter and Jesse it might say that he is not a manager of that outlet as regular manager with just job to do would not have paid personal attention to them so he might be someone higher in hierarchy of Los Pollos Hermanos. That would be correct guess as he is the owner and founder and very interested in keeping his business afloat.

Jesse had great intuition, he knew Walt wouldn’t stop after the 40 pounds were sold. In hindsight he was 100% correct!

I never paid attention before, but if you look carefully you'll notice that in the first two o three seasons the camera is always a lil bit shaky. I am wondering why.

This was brilliant acting by Aron in this scene. Always loved this part.

In Breaking Bad I thought Pollos was a pretty crappy place to go eat. Then in Better Call Saul they made it look like some top quality fast food place that serves the best fried chicken in the US.

It's pretty funny too how he's an absolute psychopath but boy is he dedicated to quality fast food service at this one location!

@@jdlamb4212 After he gets outed it must have been nightmare for forensic accountants to figure out just how much of Los Pollo Hermano's revenue was real and what was from drug dealing. It must have been quite a shock for Gus to be revealed as drug kingpin.

I really want to try one of those breakfast burritos that are served all day. Gus really gets it with that all day breakfast.

I love how the manager/owner of the store came in to check if everything is fine. Goes to show what made him get to the top and have this kinds of sucesful busines. Small details like that show why he managed to reach the top when it comes to the chicken busines.

The deep frying at the beginning shows that this food is just as bad as the 'other product'. It's being cooked by one person, served by another (notice the sinister look on the male server/dealer's face), and Gus is directing behind the scenes.
