Lovely churches Cara 🙂 I've done a few of the stone tile roofs on churches in Dorset, they're fine if you number the tiles as they come off. If you don't number them they're a nightmare to put back on as they're individually dressed 😨

Thank you, although I am sure you have visited one. 😊. Oh I visited a church, video won’t be up till mid January but if you haven’t looked at it, you Might want to visit it. Ramsbury, Wiltshire. Stunning and inside they have Anglo Saxon stones. Worth a visit 😊

I'm aware of the legend concerning the back door, if you count the studs at midnight on a certain day (dont know the day) apparently this invokes the ghost of Wild William Darrell. Thanks for recording these 2 village churches! I noticed the name of Hinton Parva’s church St Swithuns - we have a St Swithuns in a village near us & whenever we go past it I always think it is a rare church dedication! I have never found another anywhere we go so I immediately took interest in this one. I have been to Winchester Cathedral where St Swithun’s funerary chest is but never found another church dedicated to the saint. I note that it is part Anglo Saxon and our St Swithuns is I think part Anglo Saxon. Maybe it is more of an Anglo- Saxon dedication than medieval- anyway it was pleasing to find another St Swithuns, so thank you! Hoping you had a good Christmas & best wishes for a Happy & Successful 2024!
