Cadillac in my opinion looked great in the ambulance conversation which were popular when I was growing up in the 70's. Thank you for sharing!

I remember seeing these type AMBULANCE as a kid. Didn't really have van or truck versions near where we lived. There's a lot in Cincinnati, Ohio that sells used funeral cars and Ambulances. Usually with very low miles for their age.

In the Funeral industry they are called "coaches" not "hearses". I have never heard a Funeral Director call it a "hearse".Just like they call the "limousine" the "family car".

The '63 blue Caddy at 5:30 looks exactly like the Caddy that transferred the body of President Jack Kennedy from Air Force One, to the White House on November 22, 1963, after the events in Dallas, Tx. that day.

Kinda funny, I'm more of an off road, utilitarian kinda guy but these hearses are something I would absolutely drive simply for the fact of how many people have been taxied to their final resting places

Personally I wouldn't want to ride in an ambulance owned by a funeral home. The owner would have no incentive to get you to the hospital quickly. Just the opposite, in fact. Why not carry the customer twice...

Some of the early 1950s Caddy ambulance engines found their way into moonshiner's cars: while most V-8s at the time were around 90-120HP, the Caddy made around 250HP. They'd shove them into a ratty old Ford or Merc and could outrun the feds all day and all night long...
