Hello. I'm from Bialystok but I live in London. That statue with the puppet is not symbolize goverment rulled by soviets. Its just a monument what represents famous bialystok puppet theater. And the memorial on the front of a church is commemorating victims of a presdential plane crash in 2010.Cheers.

My visit to Poland was in 2009 - Wroclaw and Krakow and several other places around and about. I fell in love, especially with all the gnomes. Loved the gardens!
