The ancient village of Corinth was a major city-state located in Greece, situated on the isthmus connecting the Peloponnese to the mainland. It was a hub of trade and commerce and known for its wealth and prosperity. The city was famous for its pottery industry and was the site of the Temple of Apollo. Additionally, the Temple of Aphrodite, dedicated to the goddess of love and beauty, was located on the Acrocorinth, a high hill overlooking the city. Throughout its history, Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities in Greece, and its story is closely tied to the rise and fall of the Greek empire.
