It's mystical, but I always feel like it comes with a sense of karmic justice. As if you had been beaten in a hopeless fight, but then suddenly God intervened and set things right for you. Especially at the part where this plays in either Two Betrayals or Keyes from Halo: CE when the Covenant is in absolute chaos, disarray and getting their asses handed to them by the Flood.

One thing I've noticed is that with each version you can get a feel for the game it's from. Halo CE is almost basic, not too fleshed out, but still great (First Game, setting the bar). Halo 2 is very Religious with an emphasis on Choirs (Arbiter) and some Rock Instruments thrown in (Master Chief). Halo 3 has an almost Orchestral and Cinematic feel, (a great end to a great Trilogy (still trying to figure this one out, tbh)). Halo Reach is VERY militaristic, with a heavy emphasis on Brass and Drums (Grounded Military style). Halo Infinite is a new sound entirely, but has the same sound at it's core (A new beginning for the series, a "soft reboot" of sorts). It's wild how these guys can remake the same song like 5 times and it'll hit you every. Single. Time.

For some reason every time I hear certain music tracks while in game I get this weird sense of nostalgia. For context, I was born about a year before Halo 3 even came out and I’ve never had any link to Halo until about sixth grade. I just started high school and according to most long time Halo fans, I’m at the age where they loved the franchise the most. I just hope that Halo Infinite is like what Halo 3 was to the older fans.

The Infinite version sounds so much more like Halo vs the way that Halo 4 and 5's music sounded. It's hard to describe but Halo should sound mystical, tribal, and futuristic all at the same time and that track does it for me! Honestly, so long as the ai is fun to fight against and the game's music follows this philosophy, I'd definitely play Infinite.

Halo CE barely had one, Halo 3's was super watered down, H4's was like reading one of the books you're given for English class (not that deep literary elements is necessarily a bad thing), and H5's was just gross. H2 explored the covenant, explored themes of betrayal, alliance, desperation, and mysticism. The only part that sucked ass was the lack of fleshing out the gravemind, but that's whatever. H4 is a close second

Halo ce one always gives the most nostalgia. Got it on my xbox 360 around when I first got the xbox 360 around probably 2011 or 2012. I miss those times playing halo ce 2 and 3 with all my friends back then. I like halo 2’s the most out of them all though

Considering how much design redevelopment the first Halo went through stuff like that was bound to happen. The game went from RTS to open world TPS to focused TPS to FPS in a few short years and a lot of weapons, characters, and even alien redesigns happened

Thanks for compiling!! Listened to this numerous times as well as your "unforgotten" and "on a pale horse" compilations. So thank you! CE - That bassline. CEA - Updated synths and detail in each ear! But that male choir. No. H2 - Darker, more anticipatory of impending action! But lost some of the bass from CE H2A - Clean, crisp sounding percussion. But that male choir again. H3 - Lighter, more atmospheric, at least an in tune choir sound ! Reach - Brass doesn't fit! Having said that, "from the vault" is a superb track from Reach. Infinite - .....just....wow... @Jacob hit with a comment from 2 years ago...these are mixtures of mystical, tribal, and futuristic ..plus sadness, optimism, rage, loss.... the whole series have masterpieces by all their respective composers....even Halo 4.
