Been down 38 several times never noticed the cenote. Will check it out in a month or so when I am back in playa. Peace

We were the same. Walked down 38 for years and never knew that cenote existed until last summer. There’s also a cool river across the street. If you go into a women’s clothing store right across from the cenote, walk out the back you’ll see a bridge that connects to a restaurant. Below it is the water. It’s really relaxing.

Great video, guys! Super chill area! I am thinking of investing in an apartment to eventually rent out and also stay in during vacation time. Is there any advise you can give me? I am an American citizen. Do you have Mexican citizenship to be able to purchase property there and how is it dealing with the beaurcracy to do that? And also, how is the security situation? Thank you! We absolutely love that area!!! If we were to buy, it would for sure be in that neighborhood. Speaking of buying… we would recommend finding a real estate agent. We don’t think you have to be a citizen of Mexico to buy, but it does make it easier. There’s some tricky zoning issues once you’re north of CTM off 5th, that’s why an agent is key because they’ll know all about that. As far as safety, never an issue, especially in that area. Over the past couple years we’ve gone, two out of the three places we stayed, longer term, had security and were gated. We feel like the city keeps that part of town extra safe. You’re making us want to catch a flight right now talking about it lol. We might have an agents number to send, if you’re interested.

Well first, Bacalar is amazing, we LOVE it out there! That's a special, special town! Oct is a great time to come down here because it's right before high season, which begins in November. Chances are you'll be able to lock in a low season rent in Oct. And of course, we're paying 33,000 pesos a month. Wish you the best on your stay!

Would love if lyou can share the cost of living in Playa and name of the condos

The name of our condo was Heliko. It's on CTM below 1st. Our cost of living was a little high because we needed a bigger space for the kids. Plus we were right by the beach. So about a total of $2500 (rent, electric, food, etc) a month. We had friends who were 15 mins away from the water and had a nice new two bedroom and their rent was around $700. We don't know the rest of their expenses .
