A Walk Through the Woods to Graceland’s Chapel

I took a walk up a path through the tiny area of woods that lie between the Graceland Guesthouse Hotel and the north stone perimeter wall of Graceland’s side yard. It was a gorgeous day and the sun shone through the trees as it headed toward the evening horizon. It was a serendipitous moment where it was perfect light and sound as you could hear distant laughter coming from the trees near the Chapel from a small group of people having their wedding pictures taken. A friend of mines father and mother, the Bryson's was invited to have a revival there in 1958 by Elvis himself. Mrs Gloria Bryson had been the piano player at the Louisiana hayride and was freinds of Elvis's.

Aww I was hoping you would go past the chaple into woods to get a side view of Graceland where the mobile homes where. Me and friend did that June 2019 about 10pm Security heard us and we took off 🏃‍♀️. We out ran them 😆. Two women in our 50's

they have been at various times, but I don’t know about right now, but you could probably call Graceland and ask to speak to someone about the current status of it when you are planning on coming. The phone number in USA is [phone]

Hi Miss Ruth. Thank you for watching. This is actually a "Chapel" not a church. A chapel being a non-denominational space often attached to a larger institution or entity. Therefore a cross would not be necessary. :-)

I hi Bonnie…it was built after the house was opened to the public. Originally there was supposedly another building used for the chapel, and this one was built more recently. Thanks for the question! 😊

@@thememphismafia83 My daughter was married in 2015 at a different “Chapel in the Woods.” It was accessed through the gate beside the Corporate Office Building & was located behind them. It was a quaint small venue & was a shorter walk to get to the Mansion. I think it may be a storage shed now.
