That was a brave walk Paddy, you'd nearly be as well wearing wellingtons, looking at the map it looks like the river just starts seeping out from the bog a long way south from Lough Barra, I love finding those old houses too, sad when you think of the great people that lived there years ago, probably all died out and the rest emigrated.

Thanks a million. I did a few years in London myself building scaffold, nothing like what you did, only from 2012 to 2018, but by God do you appreciate things from home when you're far away from it. All the best, thanks for watching!

Fuckin class. Really enjoying the craic with you! Keep the videos coming. Takes me back over forty years. I remember jumping a shuck along that river, and landed both feet in the middle of a rotten sheep. I can still smell the stench! But the pints in the local in Doochary, made up for it.

Lovely to see your videos and great history of Donegal. The views are always spectacular and Tis great to hear the babbling sounds of the river and crashing of the waterfalls. I agree the beans are great with bread and butter. You’re doing fabulous work out exploring all the lovely old cottages and rivers in Donegal no place like home to me. Dunno how you don’t get lost

The pub? Don't know, think they done it up. The Gweebarra bar in Leiter got the same treatment too. Sure they leave nothing alone

Class looking river. Imagine what it must be like with a big banker of a flood roaring down through those gorges. Never fished it........YET!!
@highlandpaddy27563 жыл бұрын
Looks like a class river for the fly but I was telling my pal there i met an oul buck on the way upstream and he reckons it's gone very bad for salmon this last while, nobody seems to know why.

Fair play to you again paddy belter once again. I've fished that river many a time there's no better run of salmon in Europe when it's the right time of the season 👍
@highlandpaddy27563 жыл бұрын
i was chatting to a farmer on that walk and he reckons the salmon's nearly all gone from that river, says it's in very bad shape. I must try them waterfalls again in September and see are there any jumping. There's parts oh that river as wide as the Finn! I couldn't believe it!

Hello paddy. You can tell that farmer he was full of shite. One of the best rivers in Ireland if you no were the fish rest. He was probably a poacher on the river trying to put up off. That use to be free fishing then a big dispute fell in to place. High court proceedings against men and women.
