Funny you should say that because I found a mysterious journal myself. Thumbing through the pages I found a bizzar message on the inside cover which read "if found please return to " So I put it in a stamped addressed envelope and posted it to the specified address... And that's the last I heard of it. The rest of the journals contents remains a mystery to this day. 🤔

I had to walk home from college in fog so thick i couldn't see my hand in front of me. i had to cut through the woods. And to this day, i hope i was just hallucinating. Basically, when i was in the woods, about ten steps behind me out of nowhere, there was a banshee like wail and sprinting footsteps in my direction. That's the fastest 3km run i ever did. And yes, i did run into a tree once XD

This reminded me of the Japanese horror classic Kairo ("Pulse" - the one the inspired the American version of this name). People fading away into another state of being - that of nothingness. This was a really great story, almost Lovecraftian in a modern way, how an idea infects the main character and they can't leave it alone and it drives them further into the void. I really enjoyed this. Great narration, too, of course!

Thumbnail Image- It came with the mysterious fog of 1993. Some say it still walks among us. Listening to this makes me think the MC's parents(especially the Mom) are hiding something, but it's not clear if what they're hiding is tied to the strangeness that's happening. It's hard to figure out Big Steve. Was he in on it the whole time or gradually fell under the fog's influence? The fact that the entire story is told from a journal and snippets from a radio show made it more ambiguous. Last few minutes of the story went in an unexpected direction and raises a lot of questions.

Thank you Mr Creeps for another awesome pasta. I really did like this story among other sci-fi fog stories. Sorry I didn't watch it yesterday, just been very sick, to the point my stomach stopped digesting food and a burger that I ate 2 days prior was thrown up. Burgers don't usually take 41 hours to digest completely, let alone still have undigested bread from the buns. Lungs keep filling with fluid and the massive amount of pollen falling is only making things much worse. I originally thought this was a rhinovirus head cold, but it just kept getting worse. I'm suspecting it is likely coronavirus as 49 shots of 93 proof Blackheart rum in a single day hasn't killed it. This virus is really nasty and not only is it shutting down my gastrointestinal tract, but it's likely to cause pneumonia. It reminds me a lot of when I had SARS COV-1 virus back in 2002, and COVID-19 is the SARS COV-2 virus and has over 70% of the same genetic makeup. I should have been dead from running a fever hot enough to make a thermometer say HHH.h, but that didn't come without permanent damage to my body. I'm currently running a fever of 104.1, and was 107,7 Saturday and in an out of consciousness. I've been fully vaccinated for COVID, and I might be dead if I wasn't. I've got another 21 years on me now. Anyway, thank you Mr Creeps for the awesome pasta.

Hey internet stranger hope you start feeling better soon. If the difficulty digesting food sticks around after the virus you may want to look up "post viral gastroparesis". Sticking to soft, low fiber, and low fat foods will be easier on your stomach and less likely to come back up.
@kentworch
@kentworch Жыл бұрын
@@IW3527 Thank you internet friend, I am starting to get better, and I think it was more just a case of my gastrointestinal tract shutting down to reroute more resources to my immune system that was heavily attacking the falling pollen and eventually it began attacking the virus. I'm mostly carnivorous in nature and fiber isn't normally much of a concern in my diet. The buns on the burger and maybe the rice I ate with the crust on the fried chicken with it were all the fiber I had. What happened is nothing at all got digested, and even the chicken broth I ate went right through me and was still chicken broth coming out the other side. It was just a complete shutdown and there was no bile or stomach acid. It's been that way for almost a week, but it's starting to come back on line now and I'm starting to feel a little better and be able digest food again. It was a hell of a ride. Thank you for your concern friend, God bless you.❤️❤️❤️❤️ EDIT: I should also add that my stomach acid is normally strong enough to digest bones, and I often do eat bones on the regular. No bones that day though. I simply stopped eating after that because there really wasn't any point. I'm reintroducing food today though, gonna start with a small meaty meal as not to cause refeeding syndrome.

I remember my dad talking about it sometimes under his breath when he drank. Was all over the news back in Ireland. Was of a news report about some fog rolling from up out of the ocean some 50 miles aways from the East Coast. They said in the story that the East Coast didn't expect it, but that must have been a communication error, cus they say clearly in the video that some of the East Coast national guard got swept up in it before the navy could recognise the danger. 12 men were heard on video screaming for their families before becoming part of the fog. They were ugly things, and that fog was anything but beautiful. Looked like blackened ash more than fog. Pretty much immediately after that, practically everyone was ushered into specially made bunkers. You see, the CIA had known about this for a while. They'd seen all sorts of... fish that had been unlucky enough to get caught up in it. I shouldn't say caught up cause after that fog appeared all the fish treated it like the plague, rather unlucky enough to be where it appeared. See, an underwater navigational team of researchers were studying the ocean bedrock at the time for volcanic activity near a fault line, when they stumbled upon it. They had the wits to turn around and report it to the US government, who in turn gave that over to the CIA. Not much is known about their initial investigation even among high ranking military officials, but what is known is that they prevented any and all ships, military or otherwise, for going near to that fog. About a month later after this discovery, the CIA ordered the mass construction of tens of thousands of underground bunkers nationwide, big enough to house the entire US population. The contruction began in June of 1990, and was finished by early '95. By then, news about where the fog was going became public, and it wasn't looking good for the US. The fog was going to roll all across the middle of the country, all the way from New York to Texas. The CIA believed that the fog would dissipate soon after leaving San Andreas, although no one at the time had any idea why they believed this. So, the fog rolls in in early 97, at about 20 miles a day, and the CIA successfully escorted 99.8% of the US population to their secure bunkers, including all high ranking officials and businessmen, all the way down to every homeless man, woman and child they could find. Soon after everyone was tucked neatly underground, the fog hit land and unexpectedly sped up. Very few towns decided to risk it, but the ones that did ended up like the one in the tale. 2 towns and 14 villages were destroyed, either partially or in full, by that fog. The CIA put those places under lock and key after the fog had fully dissipated. As it turns out, all non-sentient life were unaffected for some reason. The fish that were caught up in the initial maelstrom turned up fine and well about a day after the fog disappeared. That couldn't be said for the people though. Where the fog dissipated, there was a lot of gore. The sea was red as crimson with the blood and guts of the deceased. All of the remains were identified as human. After scrubbing the evidence clean, intelligence organisations around the world began the dirty work of slowly removing all the evidence piece by piece until there was none left. They did it that way so nobody would notice, and those who did would just chalk it up to a weird fever dream or be called lunatics by their friends and neighbours. However, my father was one of the people assigned to destroy a vital piece of information, a screen recording of the news report copied onto 3 disks. He started a fire and burned two of them to make it look like he had done the job, but he kept the last one to himself as a reminder. When I was a wee lad, I remember my dad going up into the attic every night to watch something on an old tv of his. Wasn't till I was older when I discovered the disk still in the dusty video player hooked up to an old crt tv. I pressed play, and saw the recorded hour long documentary for the first time. I've been watching it off and on for the past few weeks, but I've been making sure my dad doesn't find out. Something tells me that he's keeping this a secret to keep us safe, and I'd rather have things stay that way. The last thing I want is some men in black pulling up and dragging us away to who knows where. What disturbs me the most though is that the documentary says the CIA started working with Asian and European intelligence groups to bunker proof their countries too. All the way from Japan to Ireland, they're building bunkers and building them fast. The 1998 documentary says the CIA warned that the fog may come back within the next 20 or so years (they said, "16-24 years" in the documentary), but that this time it'd be making people into zombies. They didn't say why or how they knew this, they just said their researchers found something disturbing about that damn fog. What worries me is that around this same time, the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan happened. I don't know about you, but when I look back on it, I vaguely remember news reports about a fog rolling across Asia, and being escorted into a dingy tunnel full of people scared shitless. I really hope that was a dream though, because in my dream, there was a million strong population of people living in a country called Kurdistan, who didn't listen to the warnings. Stay safe out there, and if you ever hear reports of a strange fog, hope to god those bunkers don't have no cracks in them

The setting and events are really entertaining. Big Steve is a LAD. But the main character screws the story with a big, rubber, studded rod... Thankfully not so bad that I couldn't listen to the end. Still fun. Still, I'm sick of this bad trope in horror of "Well, we can't progress the story unless the main characters acts like a brain-dead chimp and gets himself killed." No, there's plenty of ways to progress a story. Force Majeure (something outside characters control), more threatening creatures (although these creatures are actually fine), more dire circumstances, or maybe just take an entirely different perspective instead of that of a child written to be as retarded as possible. There's lots of other ways to move a story forward, but this comment is already getting too long. All this being said, I was still able to listen to the end. Again, the events of the fog and Big Steve are enough to carry the dead weight that is the main character. Kinida wish this whole story had been told from Big Steve's perspective honestly. Heheh~.

The MC didn't really do anything dumb, they were more of a passive observer to whatever was happening. Their actions were strange, but so was the way their patents acted. At times, it felt like the parents knew more than they let on, but the story didn't go in that direction. I agree with you on Big Steve. His observations (involvemet?) did all the heavy lifting in this story.

@basimaziz Жыл бұрын
@@king81992 Yeah, main events and big steve r poggers. However, making a hole in the wall so the monsters can get in doesn't seem like "passive" behavior. The parents, on the other hand, are not engaging in brain-dead behavior to actively get themselves killed.

I do not remember any FOG like this in North America in November of 1993. My so was born at this time so I was around (meaning in the USA, not out of country in yet another war zone). I actually delivered my son. I had just come back to USA from Asia in March 93. I did deploy on 2 Jan. 94 for Africa.
