I feel it’s very important to state that the Course does say that all fear initially arose from guilt-guilt of our belief in separation.

Such a fearful world, as Ken Wapnik use to say, it is a kill or be killed world, a very unhappy place indeed. The Course is a way out, great subject ❤

I’m just a few minutes in, and Robert has said of fear that “it’s not going to go away on its own”, and I am called to offer what came to mind when I heard this . I am like Robert in that poring over the ACIM work and drawing out the statements around particular words is an exercise that would be rather pleasing than taxing . and I am led to think that Robert and I are the same when it comes to meticulous word choice . so on this statement that fear isn’t going to go away on its own, I see the wisdom . and if it be possible with English to do, I desire presently to say ‘yes’ to that, while offering the reverse statement, that ‘fear goes away on its own’, which to a keen listener also may stimulate deep wisdom not wishing to be too vague, perhaps I’ll elucidate what I mean . there is a component of fear which is an active, voluntary maintaining & sustaining of a particular worldview . I say ‘a component’, but it may be the very root of fear . so _if we could_, we might leave it alone, and watch it leave . this watching-it-leave takes, though, an understanding that the fear is not real and never was . I am proposing a kind of deep psychic relaxation of our attention to, & turning from, fear, which dawns the understanding that the fear was never anything to be taken seriously to begin with . ...something like that :)

We have all been conditioned to be in a fearful from a very young age , through religion, police , war threat , poverty, commercials telling us we need things to be happy , careers ladders .even the idea of managing relationships with people who have the same conditioning .I have lived with fear most of my life , it’s not easy to break free because most of fear response is because of other humans who had their own fear issues . So as I move forward to change my mind view point , however although I change my conditioning but still so very aware that I’m in a world full of fear and those who are changing like myself are hidden as they know the world will attack us because we have left the tribe .

Yes, I very much understand, I think, what you are saying. And now that I'm in the process of leaving the tribe, feeling more exposed. I guess this is an opportunity for me to find out who I AM.

Fear is kept alive by internal guilt. Not worthy of love. The insanity of the ego.
@richardlynch6927

We continually live in the shadows created by the ego ,when the light comes shinning we will run deeper into the shadows because the love is so graceful and pure just like Adam And Eve they hid themselves because now they realised how pure and graceful the light was and this light was going to highlight the shadows within . This is what they related to as fear , this kind of fear was the fear that now they couldn’t contain this love light now that they had their shadows and felt inadequate to be in the presence of the light , love .

According to the Bible, Jesus did experience fear in the Garden of Gethsemane. This is described in several passages: - **Matthew 26:36-46**: Here we are told how Jesus felt "greatly grieved and frightened."¹ - **Marcus 14:32-42**: Mark describes how Jesus was "dismayed and frightened" and prayed that the hour would pass him by². - **Luke 22:39-46**: Luke mentions that Jesus was in prayer and became "in agony," His sweat becoming like "great drops of blood falling to the ground"³. - **John 18:1-11**: Although John does not explicitly speak of Jesus' fear, he does describe the events in the garden where Jesus was arrested after His prayer⁴. These passages show that despite His divine nature, Jesus also experienced true human emotions, including deep fear and sadness.

Thank you both so much for this lesson. The pacing of it and the content were perfect for me, in my place of sorting through these love and fear issues. I was troubled by fears related to the recent Hamas attack on Israel and the public's response. Now I am at peace about it. God bless you both !!!!

Hello I am so very glad I found you ! I am fairly new to the Course, I have watched and listened to a number of teachers especially Ken Wapnick to better understand the material, but I have to say you guys have a special way to make it so clear and somewhat easier to get that it is a great help for me to get through the Course in a smoother way. So thank you very much for your dedication and your making it understandable! ❤❤ p.s. I 'd love to participate to some of your seminars but I live in Italy and the time zone makes it difficult and I really don't like to watch the recording...

I think in order to live a world full of fear , on a wider scale for a country to chose love , peace over fear it would have to very patience and wait and hope a country will make the first move in the love direction then maybe other nations would respond no move in the same direction , however on a personal level as an individual we can choose to make the first move .

Can I integrate these teachings with what I've learned by studying the Upanishads, the Dhammapada, the Bhagavad Gita, Tao Te Ching? Coming from a Christian background, I feel like I haven't been able to benefit from non-dualistic teachings, yet fundamentalist Christianity has terrified me and pushed me away from taking certain teachings of Jesus seriously. And yet I still feel uncomfortable with 'new age' teachings and practices (like yoga) that I know could help me, because I've been programmed so heavily by western dualism. I feel like I am rattling at the bars of a horrible prison--being forced to choose between fundamentalism and materialistic philosophies such as Objectivism or Existentialism. I am so tangled up about these things that I just can't deal with them anymore...I want integration and peace.

Say if you have had your heart broken , to become heart broken usually you are At a point where you have given everything of yourself and now all your defences are down and if you did have a defence mechanism it would be infective . This the place where fear would come in because now you feel inadequate.
