Marital rape is become so common in India, and family members also don't listen to their daughters in this. There is a thing called "consent or permission" that everyone should take before doing anything. Woman is not a sex object or not for household chores, woman is also a human like man. I mean how can someone take sexual pleasure by hurting another person.

Marital rape has been common practice in India for centuries. It was and is more common across the world than we realise. Even in countries like the current day United Kingdom, marital rape was acceptable to achieve the goal of a male heir as soon as possible. It is only in the last 100 years that it has gradually become unacceptable especially after the Suffragette movement in England and USA where women were fighting for the right to vote in general but also to make marital rape a crime. It took until 1993 for the USA to consider marital rape a crime, and 1991 in the UK.

@Typha It's not because of marital rape being a crime, but due to changing social mores such as pre-marital sex being an accepted value in both countries, and next is living together without being married. The saying "why buy the cow when you get the milk free" comes into play here. Many women are also turning away from marriage since they do not want to wait hand on foot for someone who brings little else to the relationship.
