I really need to do a video on charity shops. When charities don’t have stuff you want, ask yourself when the last time you gave them some great titles. They can only stock what people give them. Charity shop pricing is a whole different issue. Good video as usual mate 👍

wow that is a flashback in history with those Laserdiscs. I used to own quite a lot of them, mostly from the US. I especially collected the DTS Laserdiscs when they came around.....i was quite impressed with the sound on those back then. Got rid of them a long time ago but still fun to see them again. Anyway can't wait for the James Cameron 4k's.

Pauly. Maybe if film collectors actually donated all thier unwanted films to the charity shops instead of selling them to CEX, things might change. Give more, take less.

But then we would have less to find in CEX. I know what you mean, I prefer to take my old DVDs etc to charity stores (and CEX is often down to pennies for some DVDs)

My CEX sells dvds that are covered in scratches for £1 each. Most dvds are priced between £1.50p and £4. It's cheaper to buy from the charity shops.

I do weekend work in Oxfam B.P. and we've stopped taking in donations of Dvd and bluray's now.I'm afraid other Charity Shops are phasing them out as well.

Sometimes I go in looking for a lucky break with physical, the occasionally pick up something else I spot... don't stock them, I've no reason to go in so no chance of picking up anything else.

I still have about 50 laser discs like the huge star wars boxset with hardback book and the abyss special edition pus alien and aliens etc. used to go to SRS Laser World in Wickford Essex and the Pioneer shop just off china town in London.

I used to go to that Pioneer shop I believe was on Shaftesbury Road in London, that’s also where I bought my very first DVD player back in 1997

Charity shops are fine but I agree, there are just so many copies of Love Actually out there. You can find the odd gem, the odd International DVD etc that perks up some interest (but charity shops are also great for the occasional wonderful jacket etc as well as the books and comics). As to Blu-rays, hardly see that many blu-rays in charity stores and I have yet to see a 4K. Recently had a 20 DVDs for £1 in a charity store, it was a struggle to find the 20 though as there were a lot of average films in the rows and rows of DVDs, many I have seen multiple times. CEX has a reasonable churn but the pricing is plain odd at times with some excellent films at 50p and then some truly dire horror films (classics etc) that are £12 + and probably stay on the shelves till 2030. My local market can be quite good for blu-rays so I get a lot of interesting ones there for £1 or less.

I picked up the Wednesday Blu-ray and was disappointed with the lack of any extras - they couldn't even be bothered to put the Netflix blooper reel on it. And it seems a little stupid not to do a 4K release for one of Netflix's biggest shows.🙁

I loved the movie Wish. It's a shame it got a lot of hate and criticism. Make sure to look out for the 100 hidden Easter eggs throughout the movie. Also, I had never heard of Laser Disc, so that's really cool to see and hear about!

give it till May at least for charity shops. you do get lucky from time to time. heck some are doing great deals as seen on the Facebook group. So it does seem it related to the chains. Unknown ones getting good but big names like oxfam, british heart and cancer research, just generic repeated titles.

I think you should try charity shops in a different location. Bexhill has a lot, shops there called Second Spin, dvds, cds etc. Hythe hight street. Deal on Saturday has a market, dvds and several charity shops. Hastings.

Your charity shops do seem not great, I think it can depend on area & being right place right time finding things, my locals are poor at the moment but I still check every week, do think I need to try new area tho

The subject of charity shops They have gone off a bit just lately but I Can't Fault them I've had some great Finds on media , I think it was wrong turn apart 5 the band one I had out of a charity shop, and A rare PS3 game what I sold on eBay, nice wil hay boxset as new for 25p. You have to keep going I'm afraid pauly Keep the faith and travel a bit more to them Anyway great video
