Girl idk what other stuff you are one but as someone who has been on EVERY SINGLE acne medication there is (including acutane THRICE) let me tell you that spironolactone mixed with the pill has been the BEST thing to ever happen to me. Honestly, the combo between the two makes the spironolactone work better for some reason (idk that’s what my doctor said) but girl i have been there and felt that and i really hope this time works for you🥺

tip: don’t just use a bunch of skincare products at once, that’s what broke you out. it’s something called purging, and it can make your skin worse. I’d suggest not throwing all your products away, but try them slowly and incorporate them into your skincare (1) at a time.

Caitlyn! The girlies in my family struggle with severe acne themselves. I have fairly clear skin naturally and they asked me what I do and I told them I drink lots of water, and only use a face wash and a moisturizer. They dropped ALL their acne products and started using a super basic moisturizer and face wash (something like cetaphil, cerave, etc. nothing watermelon scented and no “miracle products”.. stick with basics) and their skin really improved. It didn’t clear up FULLY because they didn’t just have basic hormonal acne, but it really really helped. I’m so glad you’ve found a “routine” that’s staring to work.

Caitlyn idk if you will ever see this but when I was your age I struggled so much with my skin too! I want you all to know that finally at *cough* 29, I finally have clear skin. I do suffer from rosacea so there is redness in my t zone and I still get a few pimples usually hormonally. I stopped washing my face and that’s when things got better! I use an alcohol free witch hazel water with rose and aloe on a reusable makeup wipe thingy and then I use a tinted sunscreen moisturizer! Sometimes I spray rose water on too! At night I wash my makeup off by rubbing hemp seed oil into my skin and then I steam it off (but not hot just warm) water and a wash cloth and then use another reusable cloth thingyto apply more witchazel water and that step is important because it helps clean off excess makeup and oil that I miss. I then use a night time hemp seed moisturizer and spray some more rose water but those ingredients I use are all simple and organic. It’s done wonders for my sensitive skin! Also, wash your sheets and pillow cases weekly if not twice a week (got animals who sleep with you? Maybe wash twice a week!) if any of you try this I hope it helps you!!!

Gut health is the key to great skin! Which doesn’t mean if you eat “perfectly” your skin will be great because eating great doesn’t mean your gut doesn’t have damage or things that need to be fixed. So things to consider, taking byuturates (also known as tributrate) will help heal the gut lining, support the good bacteria, while promoting killing the bad bacteria. Another thing that has been discovered is that most people dealing with depression are lacking two types of bacteria. Out microbiome communicates with our brain, and our brain communicates back with out microbiome, so when we are lacking certain types of bacteria, we don’t have that to communicate to the brain and that in turn also controls what our brain is communicating to our microbiome. It is helpful to take a sibo test to make sure you don’t have sibo (which probiotics will not help, but actually WORSTEN your symptoms if you do take probiotics. Probiotics and fermented foods/fermented supplements are VERY helpful in restoring the gut and increasing certain supplements effects. I say all this, but my gut is shit because ai have the knowledge, but not the money to invest..my kids come before my own health. But if you liked this information and would like more (I’m CHALK FULL of information relating the gut and the rest of the body in addition to several chronic illnesses and illnesses related to skincare and the synergy of the body. I also recommend learning about Ayurvedic health as not only are the Ayurvedic suppplements amazing and have been tried and true for literally thousands of years, but when you learn the proper way to implement them and the balance, it’s pretty awesome. I also love meditating and using frequency for various health issues including skin. Drink only distilled (add a tiny bit of Himalayan salt for minerals) and vortex your water to bring it LIFE (you can buy one cheap if you can’t invest a lot or make your own, and add magnets to the sides..easy enough find a video teaching you how to do this. Also, orgone changed my life. Learning/loving quantum physics relates back to almost everything I have mentioned here, and if begin researching in these areas, I am sure it will lead you to a lot more of what I practice for my own health. Saving to actually completely change my diet and mentally preparing for an extended dry/water fast (starting dry in the beginning, then turning it into a water fast) but it’s important to not only be prepared beforehand (particular diet leading up to) as well as after (gotta be careful with how you break your fast, very slowly and with the right blended foods for the first few days and then after the next few weeks only certain foods/timing) and I am hoping this will help me heal greatly with my two chronic illnesses. It has been known to heal cancer, not even exaggerating, fasts are amazing, but you need to know everything to do to prepare your body and how long to do them for, and you need to make sure you are medically capable of doing this, as their may be particular reasons to not fast. But after the first 3 days, your body literally starts eating up everything that SHOULD NOT be there (parasites-YES we all have them they are NOT just a thing of third world countries, precancerous cells, cancerous cells, yeast, Candida, etc..) which I think is pretty freaking amazing and I can’t wait to see results. I have seen them in the past and it generally heals me a lot, but Living with chronic illnesses that also affect your skin (lesions that never heal), coinfections, etc...it’s not fun and my illnesses are ones that generally aren’t cured..so I am just saving and trying to wait until I have the best formula of protocols and the right doctor before I get started as a whole. I do intermittent fasting though, or as in my case it’s called “the poor so I have to wait to eat anyway fasting” 😂 but mostly just because my kids are boys and literally never stop eating, so ai’d rather just go without if it’s not going to benefit me because of my illnesses anyway.

I will tell you I use all Clinique products for face cleaning because a friend told me it helped their acne so much. I have been using since my late 20’s and love it. Although my acne wasn’t super bad just occasionally would have a breakout but my friend would have bad breakouts. If I just need a spot treatment I just use a a benzo spot treatment with the Clinique. Love Clinique. Also, I think it’s better to stick with one face cleaning brand.
