I miss university so much! I studied graphic design and illustration and graduated 9 years ago. It is so wonderful to see you making the most of this time to dedicate to exploring and growing as an artist! I’d love to have this dedicated time again and you have inspired me to try and carve out more time for personal projects. My time is a bit limited because I have a toddler and work 4 days a week as a senior designer and illustrator at a childrens publishers. I joined as a junior 4 months after graduating. If you told me that when I graduated I would have been shocked and delighted! But I look back at this time of my life fondly. It is hard, but it’s great to see you enjoying it!

I love your videos. I just ran across your channel a few days ago, and I’m so happy I did. Your one piece reminds me of something we studied in a class just last week. We were covering art in protests. It’s an installation in New York called The Vessel. It was the product of protests because it was a bunch of stairs that made it inaccessible for disabled people. There was even a group formed called the Anti Stairs Club. It eventually was closed down for another reason. I love your Christmas piece. It would make beautiful wrapping paper!

Yesssss, I’m a disabled naturalist and access to nature is such a pain, also and fyi, the general consensus of the disability community is identity first language,so disabled people, rather than people with disabilities (pwd is the term an ableist organisation made up for us years ago, after asking loads of disabled people which they prefered, the disabled people mostly said identity first, but they chose person first because ableds found it less upsetting😮😂 there’s loads more about why it’s more respectful generally when talking about the disabled community, although everyone can choose their own label obvs) just letting you know because I think the pictures you put here seem much more empathetic than a lot of things I see, and really capture some stuff I go through, so you seem like you’d be open to learning. ❤

Yeah talking to individual disabled people it’s best to ask, but generally identity first is considered the go to in the community. feel free to pop back here and ask me anything if you’re ever doing work on disability, autism or trans stuff (I’m a triple threat lol). I love your art and disability is not as talked about as some other things so this video really made my day💜
