I really like this style of vlog, seeing the detail of each day is so helpful if you're on a similar journey.

I think this might be the first time I've ever seen you do consecutive basic marching kicks. Good self analysis and interesting to see the exercises you're doing to kind of deprogram yourself. I used to watch the referenced video every day and sometimes right before going to wushu practice to try and prime myself for kicks. It's a very hard skill to develop (super elastic fast kicks with very relaxed and stable upper body)

How long do you work on your strength and conditioning, flexibility and wushu each day? I'm still figuring out how much of each thing my body can recover from to keep training during the same and the next day. I will take this morning/afternoon division of trainings during the days trainings overlap, it makes more sense than the way I was doing it. I practice flexibility 3 times a week, half an hour to get to the middle split and half an hour to get to the frontal split, I wouldn't change that. I learn something important from your video, I have been doing 5 days a week of strength training, dividing all the muscle groups in those 5 days to make it possible. Then I also practice wushu 4 times a week, 2 days on group classes, 2 days on my own. I have been able to do it with the proper nutrition. But I think I will modify my strength and conditioning training approach by limiting it to specific objectives, and not just targeting the entire muscles. Instead of having 3 "legs" days and 2 upper body days, I will focus exclusively in the strength I need to build for specific postures, another day in the muscular/cardiovascular endurance, and the third one on explosiveness. I will reduce strenght/conditioning training to three days, and make it shorter but precise, establishing clear objectives. This will make more sense than my actual rutine. How do you manage to train strength and conditioning without getting your muscles too sore for wushu training? Are your strength/conditioning sessions shorter but with a few precise objectives each time? Thanks for sharing.

Hello, does your Wushu training involve only striking? Or do you grappler/wrestle as well?
@RebeccaChinn2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chadi! Great question. I practice a type of wushu that only includes the taolu, or forms. We include striking moves in our forms, but don't do any actual striking work, nor do we grapple. Your channel looks awesome, btw, adding some vids to my watch later playlist!!

Lolllll just seeing this - Im figuring out how to use the KZbin studio tools and finding all the comments I've missed 😅 My coaches name is Colin Cook and he trained wushu for many years at Shichahai in Beijing! He's not taking clients at the moment - are you looking for a strength coach? Also lol. Yes. It was the same comp 😅😅😅 next time this happens I will say hi to you!!!

@@RebeccaChinn No problem :) Im sure youve got a lot to do and figure out. KZbin is hard. I am looking...ish. Ive done some work on my own but am not great at pitting together my own program. damn watching this video makes me miss training...good luck in phx! Btw. You dont want to add running long distance to ur training to help with endurance? I feel like it helped me back then. Along with endless frog jumps.

Haha yesss frog jumps 😂 currently for endurance training I do a lot of mabu gongu sets (a couple carpet lengths at a time) because it trains the anaerobic system and is wushu specific. my legs die haha 😆 Thank you so much!! Haha do I know you? 😀
