This is what I love most about your vlogs! They show the reality we all face, like getting ill, having a rough time, or struggling with eating habits. You don’t just show the good or perfect moments, but also the tough ones, and I love that. I'm glad you're feeling much better now. Good luck on the rest of your journey! I look forward to seeing the next vlog.

Have signed up for my first marathon (Austin, TX) and am enjoying your videos as motivation. And I appreciate that you swear so freely! Keep that shit up! 😄

Wonderful to hear you saying 'we can do better' about those low calories meals. So many companies seem to use low cal as a selling point - i think i'm gonna have your voice in my head now saying 'we can do better' everytime I eat too little
@RunswithemilyАй бұрын
Sooo true I’m quite sick of it suggesting a 350 kcal meal is like a normal portion?! 😭😅 so important to make sure we’re eating enough, especially if we’re active!

I did my longest long run of half marathon training on the weekend, but this week in general is HUGE. I'm actually dreading getting out and running, but this video has given me a bit of a kick up the bum. All we can do is our best ❤
@RunswithemilyАй бұрын
Yay I’m glad that this has motivated you! Good luck with your training :) are you tapering soon?
@chesleyevsАй бұрын
@Runswithemily so this week is a beefy one with my shortest run being 10k, as well as two 12km interval/tempo runs and a long run. But my long run is decreasing now thankfully (I did 23km Saturday just gone, 19km Saturday coming and 16 km the following weekend). Then I believe I'm tapering for 2 weeks ready for the 13th of October! I'm honestly so ready. Everything just feels hard now, more so hitting the faster paces on intervals. It's so demoralising! 😅

Glad you're feeling better Emily. Well done on getting back on it. Great thing about your videos is they're very relatable

Thanks so much! 😊

Let it go Emily, come back to training gently, and then slot back into your plan. No catch up! Don’t try do that! You’ll not have lost fitness and, though missing your 32km will nag away at you, it’s by no means a disaster. Life happens. You’ve been training well. You’ll continue to train well. And you’ll do great at race day. But the MOST important thing is getting to that start line fit and healthy. Focus on all the runs you have been able to do. Having said all this, I know from personal experience how difficult it is to do all the above. We’re with you, cheering you on remotely!

I’ve got two Salomon - adv5 and 12. I’d never use anything else. They’re perfect for me

Thank you for pointing out the nonsense that is ready-made meals with tiny calorie counts for anyone who is even just slightly active. With some of the ready-made stuff I need 2 or sometimes even 3 of them to actually feel full and not be in a caloric deficit. Sooo looking forward to having a proper kitchen and freezer again soon so that I can batch-cook again (moving houses with shitty timing sucks!)

Thank you so much for sharing this. I am out with strep right now, and this is giving me hope for getting back to running in the coming week.

I know this feeling. Back in june/July I had a prolonged neck and back pain. Took me almost 4 weeks to get over. The ones that finally subsided, I got covid during my summer holiday. It prompted me be more active. So I've started running with a coworker once a week or every other week depending on schedules. But we track each other through apps when we're not running together. I'm in my mid forties and that situation during the summer, kinda scared me because if I don't do something active with my body, that level of inability to be active has a very real risk of becoming a chronic thing.

The App sounds wonderful! :) will it be UK only? Or also international? Watching from Germany:)

I’m hoping it will be international but we’re still working on that :)

the Uk is full of parkruns though, they are amazing to connect to other runners

Good ideas on the running clubs app, but make sure it's safe for everyone and doesn't turn into love island and overwhelming experience.

The low calorie thing is so irritating! I’m always trying to find ready made canned or frozen meals at the grocery store and most of the ones I see are around 350 calories or less. Sometimes even when finding recipes online to cook myself I still find super low calorie ones! The other day I found a meal that looked delicious and the author said it could feed a family of 4 but each “serving” was only 180 calories. Like excuse me ma’am that is barely even a snack!!
@conradburdekin722Ай бұрын
After your 38k run I’d imagine you ate a week’s worth of those meals. I ran 25k yesterday. By the end of the day I’d burned 3800. That’s ten of those meals 😂😂
@MsHoneymoon93Ай бұрын
Thanks for pointing out that 400 calories in a meal is far too little when you are a runner… 😅 There is so much content about saving calories in the online fitness world and it‘s really refreshing watching someone saying my thoughts out loud… 😅 I need all the food when I‘m exercising. And not everybody out there want‘s to lose weight while eating healthy.

Honestly it’s so frustrating 😂
@lenkaontherunАй бұрын
I just went through some cold as well. It's so frustrating! 😭And I wonder about the same thing you did in the beginning of the video, like do you just skip it or continue? I guess you had no other choice, since your race is coming up. I don't train for anything besides getting to 1000k/year, so I'm contemplating on what to do. 🧐🤔🫠
@RunswithemilyАй бұрын
I ended up just completely skipping the week I missed and carried on with the plan. Yeh exactly I’m only a few weeks out now so trying to catch up seems silly and I’d just tired myself out :)
