Bit off topic from the main focus of the video, but I was thinking that you should maybe add a cool down period after disinfecting the animals before they can be reinfected. There is a scene at around 4:10 where you attack to bats and they instantly switch back to being infected when coming into contact with the third. Allowing a grace period may avoid some player frustration when fighting a large amount of enemies in a close environment

How have you found switching from the ultrawide and secondary monitor setup to this large, single, 4K(?) monitor? Genuinely curious
@DevDuck3 жыл бұрын
It's been pretty swell so far! Having > 1 monitor was a pain with the 3 computers I have to switch my display(s) between. It's much easier now that my PC and 2 laptops (and XBOX as well) have their own dedicated HDMI 2.1 input. As far as the display quality goes - huge upgrade. 4K OLED is stunning, and the pixel density is definitely not an issue, at least with how far away I sit given the depth of my desk. I dig it!

it would be cool if there was some uninfected creatures that would fight(not fight, but struggle with infected creatures to resist the corruption) it would make for some cool interactions saving animals from the corruption and if you could take them back to your base later in the game when you make base building and start a animal shelter/aquarium where you take care/connect with the creatures that you save and maybe let back into the world

Enjoyed the stream! One of the things I notice in your lifestyle videos is that you seem to do a lot more purposeful things throughout the day rather than faffing about online. Is that something you've worked at specifically or are you naturally less into the rabbit holes of Twitter or KZbin?
@DevDuck3 жыл бұрын
This is something I have worked at for a long time and am still working at, and I honestly can't stress how impactful it's been for me to filter out those periods of "faffing about". A great way to start, which I've employed to great effect, is using both the Screen Time app on my iPhone and the Intention add-on for firefox to limit my time with these distractions. It's helped a lot.

Hey man, fellow indie dev here. If i can give one peice of unsolicited advice, i would deffinitelly look at sprite stacking. Maybe it's just my current obsession, but i feel like it would work really really well for your boat, instead of doing 8-way sprites, you would... well i probably don't need to explain it, but deff take a look! it's a great technique and when limited to something just like your boat, you wouldn't have to worry about the overhead of drawing so many sprites.
