A WELL-NAMED SLICE OF St IVES - THE NORA & KEN SHOW

A perfect day for the naming ceremony and service of dedication of our first new boat for 25 years and St Ives Lifeboat Station’s 10th permanent RNLI boat, 'Nora Stachura' and its equally hi-tech launch and recovery system 'Kenneth George Fulford'.
Nora Stachura was a lady from Swindon who died in December 2008, leaving her entire residuary estate to the RNLI for the provision of a lifeboat. The boat cost just over £2m.
The launch and recovery system (costing just over £1.5m) was part-funded through a legacy gifted by Kenneth George Fulford with a further £100,000 being raised within the local community.

Great day for the RNLI in St Ives, and a great showcase for the skills and seamanship of the RNLI crew - and the scones did not look too shabby either! Good to see the Mason's amongst the great and good of St Ives - did I see Eric as well?
