My grandad was a cousin to Lou. I met him when I was a kid when he and his wife came over to Nebraska to visit my grandparents. Very nice people.

Me and my boys stopped there a couple years ago. We got there just before closing and Lou wasn't going to let us in unless we had a reason. One son finally said, "I need spurs." So he let us in. We ended up spending over $1,200. What a ride. The place to go. If you're ever in Casper, its definitely worth the stop.😊

Terrific video about a legendary family store. Riding with the Hole in the Wall Gang since 1985, stopping to shop and get gear at Lou's is a tradition. Lou was also a long time member of our Gang. Just visiting the Casper store is like trip to a museum. I'm sharing this with other Gang members. This year's annual September ride is less than 2 weeks away. Keep up the good work, Mark.

This is what America is all about. The people running their store and loving it for what it is. I would love to go there some day. I have been through Casper, a long time ago when I was about 10 or 11 years old about 1960-61 time frame. Wish I would seen this. I would have loved to get a real cowboy hat and a good pair of Levi's 501s.

@Don, A lot of easterners and city-folk flounce around in those Levi trousers. Rural and west of the Mississippi, we wear Wrangler and Carhartt for work.

This place reminds me of a store my dad would take me to when I was a boy in Mpls. It was called Burman Buckskin. This place is much larger and I would love to walk through the place. I'm sure something in there would have to come home with me as a memory.

Love Lou Tauberts. Been in the store many times and still have boots that have lasted forever. If you visit go to all the floors. Lots of history in there

Been there in the Caspar store. What a Disneyland for western wear. Anytime I swing by Caspar I just have to drop by. Thousands of pairs of boots, western jeans and jackets, gloves, anything you would want.

Well I sure wish it was closer to me. I'd be there buying cause the types of western wear I get you just can't get anyplace and being I can't order on line which I really don't like doing but I have no other choice makes it really difficult. They few western shops around my neck of the woods are very few and far between then we have the cost which is just mind blowing! But anyway I wish all the best to those who can shop at a place like this it must be a great experience! 👍

As best I remember, I've been wearing Levi's since about 1969. Sadly, I can't remember how long it's been since anyone could get a pair of original 501s made in San Francisco before they closed the garment factory there. And, even before that happened, it's my understanding that all the 501s made in S.F. before the factory closure occured were consigned to the Japanese market. 😥

////thanx.. me fave memory in rapid city early days i bot some western wear on own. black hat got took and teased a few times, wore out many boots since and latest local handmade pair bot down hear may foll over if walk worn too much but have found hi boots good for bicycle touring . Had caught dozen rattlesnakes so know when in the brush to be aware. Old Faithfull yellowstone 1986 store sold similar wears and i love/preferr double pockets with flaps since a kid... i Need easy on shoes and Sunday go to meetin slacks,, as old jeans not suitable. Mom sold hand made sadle when family moved aroud.
