This recording looks really good. And as a veteran of this game, it's always great to see new people jumping in and how the experience is like for them. So hopefully you continue playing and making videos! A small note on the dodge, there is a separate button (which you can reassign if you'd like). And you can also turn off the dodge on double tap if preferred. I personally turned it off 'cause I'd accidentally double tap my keys. The combat can get pretty active later down the line :)

I hope you enjoy :) welcome to guild wars 2! don't be afraid to ask for help in map chat most of the community is very helpful with answers or even helping out with fights! Don't focus to much on getting "the best" gear. find what playstyle works for you! weapons vary from class to class, and each one has unique abilities and play feel. for beginners i recommend trying guardian or thief as they both have very unique but fun playstyles. Mesmer is a lot of fun, but it takes a bit more technical play styles rather than just easy feels. Ranger is a great beginning class as well and you can collect a myriad of different pets from around the game. revenant is a wild class, and has a TON of possibilities and customizations. sword/sword with Staff is a decent set up for most beginners as it gives an offense/defense set up. shiro (the green spirit) for sword sword, and dwarf (blue spirit) for staff are the usual beginners spec i run when levelling a revenant. I've said enough for now I hope you have fun experimenting and running through the game!

PS. set your key bindings early, and check out the "battle camera" controls. it turns it into a third person pseudo-shooter controls which is what i prefer. left click/basic attack, right click "select" target in reticle.

The Revenant armour on the character screen is from a special set of achievements collectively called Mistward.

Good call with the DLC, its essentially adds so much more to the game. The character creation doesn't mean much, just decides your starting zone, you end up all over the world regardless. All the special character traits you choose during the creation also mean next to nothing just a role play aspect that's pretty overshadowed. Just start exploring and learning the game, there are many builds but for the open world you cant go wrong with power builds, i.e equipment that have +power, +precision, and +ferocity will get you right.

@@MMOMainFrameyou might like the action camera style for the camera, if you played Tera, Bless, games of that nature where the camera feels like it has a crosshair then that’s an option as well. Keybinds are your friend to and switch them around once you get a full bar. You can bind a combination of keys as well, shift+q etc can be set for a single skill.

New player reactions to GW2 never get old. Enjoy yourself, take your time, and be prepared... the community can almost be a bit overwhelming with how welcoming they can be sometimes lol. Definitely experiment with the other classes and races, their personal stories are unique but converge around level 40. Humans are a little bland but the unique Tyrian races are pretty alright.

hey if you like more action style control of your character, there is an option to bind action camera to a button then you can left click to auto atack and right click to select and I think the game is more fun that way. to enable that you go to settings control options scroll down to camera and bind toggle action camera to something. And you are done you dont need to hold down a mouse button to turn the camera now.

@@MMOMainFrame Btw, the best ranged Power damage weapon for Revenant is the Hammer. For everyone else a two-handed melee weapon.

Enjoy the journey, and take your time on that first character. Rushing through the content is only robbing yourself from learning how the game works. And about the Dungeons, there is a "Story Mode", and 3 "Paths to Explore", for each Dungeon. There is quite a bit of story content, and/or Lore to enjoy inside of the Dungeons, but because the game is over 10 years old now, none of the Veteran players bother to interact with the Dungeons anymore, and if they do play them, it's just to speed run them as fast as possible, skipping as much of the Dungeon as they can, to get the loot at the end and then get out to do something else. So, if you can, find other new players to do Dungeons with, or veteran players who are willing to let you experience all of the cut scenes fully, and not run ahead of you killing everything in the Dungeon, before you even get to see any of it. I think that GW2 Dungeons are actually quite good, the first time you experience them, but new players rarely get to experience it the way they should, because veteran players ruin it for them. This is where joining a GW2 guild can help you find players who won't ruin your experience, and maybe you can find a few other new players to do dungeons with for the first time you experience them. @@MMOMainFrame Yes, you can join five more guilds and if the open world PvP, that is called World vs World in GW2, interests you, at least one of your guild choices should be a guild that is actively engaged in WvW, which you will designate as your WvW team, so you can play WvW with your guild members.
