@@user-nd5wl4jy8w I was wondering where this was going but I sure like the conclusion. Also, it defenetly Is a cold war but is ostania really supposed to be Soviet est Germany? Cause they keep saying that the ruling party is from the far right and communist countries didn't have such elitist attitudes (the school and all the high people, even though the rulers where much more "equal" than the rest of the country). The secret police are defenetly taken straight out of East Germany's history but the way the government seems to work resembles more something like a fascist regime (but without the cult of peraonality).

I thought it was loosely based off east/west Germany, but Loids target being a far right political leader doesn't fit this considering east Germany was far left " communist " and different political parties weren't really a thing. Far right politics tend to be ultra conservative, ultra nationalist, and pro war/ expansion. Its basically like if you blended east and west Germany's spy tactics with pre WW2 Nazi Germany and British politics.

@@paocut9018 Judging from the map that is shown, Ostania and Westalis are definitely East and West Germany. Plus, the capital of Ostania is Berlint, a city divided into East and West districts. There doesn't seem to be a wall dividing the two yet, so this takes place in 1961 at the latest.

I like Anya. In too many anime they make children unnaturally smart or mature especialy if they have any physic powers, but with Anya even if she can read minds she's still doesn't exactly know what's going on, because she's just a little kid who likes cartoons.

Many of Japan novel writter actually uses the same basic of child mature behavior from old writters kind of copying Cause its actually a fact no matter which country they're A children who had superpower or supernatural ability often treated so badly So they already learn bitter truth of reality than ordinary children who had ordinary, more easy and simple life Cause for ordinary children, life was like whats written on books or like what the teacher taught at school But for those extraordinary children, all teaching on school or books was fake to them, since everyone was like an enemy to them even if its their own family or relatives Most old certain books or novel writters about extraordinary children already make a research for it, and the current novel writters basically just copy it or made their own story more to be more dramatical which result extraordinary children looks like very unrealistic

@@hendriksalvation3930 That's not really the case. What you have is people with out the "Life Experience" writing characters. A lot of writers can't write children. Parents tend to write children better than people with out because of obvious reasons they have experience dealing with children. Many manga authors have cool ideas but lack the real world experiences (and of course this is also the case with tv and movies in the west as well) and the lack the expertise to write about the subject. Writing about guns when the author has never used one before. Writing about police, doctors, military, office workers ect. People with experience in the field can tell something is off with the author doesn't have experience in the field. And this of course apply to children. Most authors simply can't write children very well. So they indeed associate more adult tendencies and mindsets to the characters. Which is why Anya is a bit special because she acts as a child. There has been of course other stories written with realistic children but its been awhile imo since we've had one. Yotsuba is a good example imo. All of this being my opinion of course rather than a fact lol. Just to clarify.

That thing that Twilight did with the child psychology books where he basically flips through them isn't that unrealistic. There are real classes in military schools like West Point that teach that sort of thing. Given his profession and proficiency as a spy, it makes sense that Twilight would learn that skill of information retention.

I did a speed reading course once. I read "The Old Man and the Sea" in 11 min and was tested on it afterwards. Got around an 80%, but speed reading is more about getting the gist than recalling details. I don't remember having a similar course offered at the military academy I attended, but we definitely had our memories tested. Especially as a freshman you have to memorize and get tested on poems, quotes, vehicle stats, and history on a weekly basis in addition to your normal courses. You had to write down the knowledge verbatim to get credit. Missing a single comma, period, or line break could mean failing the test.

If you're just referring to speed reading (or skimming), it's not very hard and also quite valuable--it's even commonly taught in US public curriculum. The downside, as the person above me noted, you get no details. Which is why you shouldn't speed read a book on parenting lol

"Child acting like an actual child" Yeah! I really appreciate when child main/major characters are written realistically. Lets you get into it more when it's more believable. Reminds me of the daughter in Sweetness and Lightning. That character was very much written as a child (in play, screw ups, misunderstandings, etc). VA was a child too I believe.

The 2-parent policy makes sense with the era they're trying to reflect. A single parent home was seen as "low-class" and didn't fit the image of "prestige" of wealthy institutions.

I understood it as she was traumatized bc every time she told a family they brought her back. which also explains why the shitty orphanage director called her weird and tried hard to get rid of her I like the reaction tho! i will say i think telepathy also gives you the ability to read anything that you have in your mind, meaning you dont actually have to explicity tell youself something for a telepath to hear something, a telepath can kind of use your brain like a search engine and find anything they want as long as you know said thing (chances are anya dosent fully know how to use this part of her ability tho)

Interestingly enough the scene where the dad just flipping through the magazine/parenting book is not too unrealistic. He was just skimming for simple bullet points of what a child does and simple instruction on what to stop that action or deal with it short term like: "cry, why cry? Lonely, praise, give attention, turn on TV, give food etc" - which he did all haha. So simple action and surface level skill like a soldier can drive many vehicles even a tank from A to B, know what cailber bullet it used but don't know how to manufacter the tank or the materials. Imagine a medical student have to cram dozen of books with charts, numbers, pictures, infos for one test. An international personel/spy/high society imposter like our protagonist must know a bunch of languages and memory training for sure. A good example of surface level skill or just fake apperance right in this show is there are criminal/scammer specializes in tricking rich elites despite the criminal themself might never have those degrees or coming from money. Most of the time the scammer just have to be in the circle in person and give a good impression then let the victim fills in the blank based on that dramatic impression, like our MC have a short relationship with a rich girl and make her chase him.
