Bawling won't solve the problem. Have your pity party then move on, As is said: Fall 7, get up 8. Even if it means going for a job lower than your qualifications - lots of people have been doing so, and don't be too proud of doing what's considered 'menial' jobs. Trust God when He says what was meant for bad He'll turn for good. And in the process learn lessons e.g. being humble, resilience, hard grafting, longsuffering, thinking out of the box. Why couldn't he also work with his wife to help build up her business. Note Joseph, in the Bible, thru terrible times, went from the pit to the palace.

I can truly understand the many people fall on hard times but this husband should be out and about actively searching for a job rather than drowning his sorrows in liquor. Where is he getting money to drink. Furthermore what kind of man would have his wife and child out in the neighborhood picking up bottles to earn money to eat and he’s doing nothing. He might be hurting but he needs to do more than sit around and do nothing and allow his wife and child to search for money. I respect the fact that his wife used whatever she earned to buy food for the entire family, but when she offered some to her husband he refused and tots her to keep it for the little girl. Truly that is what a real man would have done. This is also a wife who stand by her vows and will do whatever she can to help out.
