Shaun of the Dead is simultaneously a hilarious send up of the Zombie genre while following the tropes of the genre so skillfully that it becomes a genuinely good zombie movie. Ive seen no one writing about him, Bu t Jim Broadbent that played the police boss does a great job in Moulin Rouge and Harry Potter as well. This is one of those movies that's better and better each time you watch it, because you notice more things. Case in point: even though I've seen Hot Fuzz probably at least a dozen times, just now I noticed for the first time that the Andys are named Andy Cartwright and Andy Wainwright, and a cartwright is the same thing as a wainwright: they're both people who make carts! The reason there are so many quasi-romantic lines between Danny and Nicholas is because the original idea was to have Danny be a female love interest for Nicholas’ straight-laced city cop (the usual cliche for these kinds of films). When they decided to cast Nick Frost as Danny instead they left the dialogue as-is and it makes it even funnier 😂
@madselmvig14577 ай бұрын
What a load of BS. Nick Frost is in ALL the Cornetto Trilogy films and never has there been any idea that he should "have been a female". They also flirt in "Shaun of the Dead", is that also because Nick Frost should have been a women? In this they just do it more because they make fun of the American semi homo erotic male bonding in "Bad boys I and II" and similar movies.
