Two thumbs up for sure Donny.. I Have to say I do enjoy hiking in the fog it's like a different world isn't it . I think the best part of the video was watching the birds fly in unison.. It was beautiful and a little spooky at the same time... Awesome job is always Donny......

Bob808Knight Yeah, I love weather that's a bit different. Or times of day that change the mood of a place, like early morning, or at night. Fog and mist is magical..I always love that.

I've seen this several times here in central Oklahoma. One time in particular it was so awesome I pulled off the road to watch. And I had two thoughts. One, what a wonderful display of nature. And two, why was everyone else driving by. I hope to never be so busy I can't stop and watch those special moments.

David Goodridge Agreed! It's a wonderful sight. Nature puts on some great shows.

A very well-filmed adventure. I appreciated that there were no human voices, rather words on the screen to identify birds. The mist, the green, the silence and finally the murmuration of starlings. A dream of a film. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks very much! And thanks to your comment I have just rewatched this myself, to relive the moment. Reminds me that although winter is again approaching, there's still so much enjoyment to be had outdoors.

Great video Donny, wonderful pictures of the expanse of wildlife at that nature reserve, and the starlings at the end were amazing. Atb Mike.

Very nice Donny it's an amazing sight. I live near Eastbourne on the south coast and the Birds live under the pier structure. At the end of the display it's like a Hoover is switched on and they all disappear under the structure in seconds to roost. Love your videos ATB Spenny

Brilliant video. I'm sure the starling population is increasing, I remember seeing this 30 years back. It's a great sight to see. Are you in the video/design business? Steve
@DonnyOutdoors10 жыл бұрын
C Veg Hopefully the starling population is increasing. They're actually on the Red List, with a 70% decline since the 70s. This time of year though, it looks like there's plenty! With the migrants that come in from Europe. I'm not in the video business, I just enjoy making them! I do graphic design though. Cheers bud...all the best...Donny.

Beautiful. Amazing footage. I enjoy viewing your videos. Great eye and artistic format. What camera do you use? I looked at previous videos; but must of missed it? Thank you & take care Donny.

Thanks. In this video I'm just using my Panasonic V-520. It has good zoom so it's ideal for wildlife. For some other videos I use my Canon 550D with better quality footage.

8:23 you see what I am fairly sure is a Peregrine Falcon enter the screen from the right and stoop down at the Starlings and you can see it has another raptor there (probably its mate) giving chase as well.

Great video Donny, what's changed- am I to understand that have you've invested in some better equipment? I've really enjoyed what you've been posting after stumbling across your site a couple of months ago. The editing continuity also seems more fluid. All power to you Mr Outdoors... Brocktify.

For some videos I use my Canon 550D but here I'm just using my Panasonic V -520. The quality is not the best but it has good zoom. Mostly to improve my videos I'm just making sure I take well composed, smooth shots and getting good angles. I just enjoy making videos really, from recording to editing. All the best, Donny.

Some people ask, why do they do this murmuration. I say, because they can.
@josephavalos78943 жыл бұрын
They do it to avoid Raptors trying to hunt them. I believe they also do it for other reasons but often you can spot Raptor(s) in the video as you can here at 8:23 a Falcon does a stoop and it has a partner there too.
