It is a nice park. Camped there over 20 years ago with my daughter and others in my tent before I had a trailer. We were fishing when Ranger came by announcing a tornado warning. Pulled up stakes, threw the tent in the back of my truck in the rain and high tailed it out of there!

We really enjoy this park! We've been here many times but we do try to avoid it in the wet seasons as it's prone to flooding

Absolutely! You can use any kind of bread you want in these pie irons. We enjoy using the swirl bread as well. Gives it a lot dessert feeling for the pie fillings. We also use these to make non dessert items like grilled cheese and pizzas

So on the camp pie's do you butter the bread and put the butter side to the outside against the iron and how long in the fire? We did some on the last trip out and I was stuck scrapping the bread loose from the iron.

Yes butter bread and butter side goes against the iron. If it's new you'll want to season it, like you would with any cast iron cooking utensil. Just rub some oil all over and cook it over the fire, open, until it's seasoned, wipe off with paper towel. you can also use cooking spray for the first use to make sure it's good. I don't use anything except butter on bread now

Depends... Usually I do it for 3 mins on each side and check it. No real science to it... Just know the fire and if it's sitting on a big bed of coals it won't take as long as if it's just sitting on a flame if that makes sense.

Do a peanut butter and marshmallow camp pie. I love roasting marshmallows then putting them on a PB sandwich. Marshmallow fluff may work better for a pie.

We got pie irons from Brandy's for Christmas last year and have not used them yet. We will be taking them to Maumee Bay next weekend along with the new Dutch oven. We haven't been too Findley yet but definitely adding it to our list for next season.

Ass someone who lives in Ohio and loves the state parks we have here for camping Findley has been on our list to go to. We tent camp so the bit about it flooding was a nice tip. All the Ohio camping group on Facebook I'm on never mention that part.

We are glad to help! It's such a great park. We really try to avoid it in the warmer months due to rain. We'd rather have snow than a muddy flooded site but we lucked out mostly this time!
