Just wondering how the travel works, do they normally pay for your flight/ rental car to the job site? Also on your week off do they pay for you flight to go back home or how does that work. Doing a class in January hoping to get a job late april after my sisters wedding.
@SamoraC2 жыл бұрын
Ya they pay for travel. Unless it's a shit company like alpha Offshore. Flights and travel should be covered. I have flown all around the country on companies dime. If they fly you of course they have to get you a rental. And will probably load a per diem card for a weeks advance. Yes they fly you home and back to work for your off time. But save because most companies don't pay for ur time off.
@DirtyDanh2 жыл бұрын
@@SamoraC is it hard to start off as an offshore tech straight out? Also any companys you would particularly say to stick away from?
@SamoraC2 жыл бұрын
@@DirtyDanh I've never worked Offshore. It's just a company name. Which is ironic. Lol. But a company who makes it easy to get on with should be a red flag. Don't get me wrong, if you get an opportunity take it. But just be warned. Wind is shady. But with great risk comes great reward. That's my advice. Don't apply to big time companies with no experience. You will waste your time. 3rd party contractors and travel positions.
@SamoraC2 жыл бұрын
Cooke power services hires people out of school. They are out of Amarillo Texas. I know Alpha Offshore will hire you. But Alpha Offshore makes you pay for gas hotel and living. And even flights. Just get in where you fit In.

I got a question so I’m getting my associates in wind tech and would that land me in a higher position?
@CptNogg2 жыл бұрын
Go in being humble! I honestly didn't know there was a degree you could get for wind tech. You must be in Iowa? Personally I started as... "well F it i'll drive 2k miles and try it out, my xbox buddy said its a great job." But most of the "school trained" tech's I have met, had no freaking clue what they were doing, you can learn the basics, but it does not represent what you will encounter in the field. To answer your question of higher position, unlikely..that's how people die..

With perdiem 16 grand a month is possible. I only started at 19 an hour with Renew Energy Maintenance and pulled around 15 grand in a couple months. After a contract with them I'm now in the market to make 21 to 24 an hour depending on who I work with next. When you get to management you'll be in the 30s and 40s. Realistically 5 to 6 years experience to start making really great money .
