Well that takes all the fun out of winding up all that knackered fencing. I'm all for it.

It’s really only limited to the users strength. If it had something like a bike gear set on it so you could adjust the gearing to suit the users strength/environment.

I think it has a lot of promise. I wonder if the cone feeder should be bolted on so it can be replaced because these could wear through with lots of use. If you were going to reuse the wire I would use some hi-vis tape to mark the ends.
@FarmLearningTim3 жыл бұрын
Yep it is. I did some pre-assembling. The shaft is seperate to the cone.

I feel like combining a wire spinner and this wire winder into one would be the better way to go? Then swap out the guide ring to suit the application you are using it for.
@FarmLearningTim3 жыл бұрын
Problem with that idea is that wire is wound differently in a factory and it would jam with the necessary angle on the drum. Can certainly unwind the wire after winding up on the machine though. Just slip the feeder off.

where were you with this tool when I was rolling up miles and miles of old wire by hand years ago

Add a 12v Motor to it like what the RFS uses to wind up their hoses, plug in to trailer connection 😉 also maybe put handle out on edge?
@LibertyGarden3 жыл бұрын
Great tool. I think an S handle might give you a little more leverage for longer pulls.

An extension for woven wire would also be great. With a flat guide instead of the round wire guide.

I also think you could probably wind the whole lot in one go if... You stick in a couple of steel 'V' stakes under the wire along the run, just to raise it a bit. Certainly that would make it possible as a one man job for long runs.
@ginojaco3 жыл бұрын
My brain just started working, wide and fairly high-sided 'U' stakes of a decent diameter tube would be much better than VS 💡.

Tim, I really need to stop viewing your tool reviews,....... The import and custom fees are killing me! Thank you for taking time to film, explain and post this video.
@sheilasmith11093 жыл бұрын
Could you show up close how you hook up the wire to the winder, initially? I’m having a time trying to understand how once you’ve got the wire finished wound up, HOW you just pull the whole thing off so easily?!!❤️🙏
@ginojaco3 жыл бұрын
You're wearing your speed-dealers, I think you'd best wear some ear-defenders too, that screeching as the wire comes in seems pretty loud.

You could have mount it above the truck and drove it in reverse gear. This way one man can drive the truck along the fence and other can wind the wire. This way there won't be any drag as well. For single man operation you can attach a motor with speed controller.
@FarmLearningTim Жыл бұрын
Interestingly they offer a motorised version. You can also side Mount on a steel tray.

Hi, thanks for that comment, sorry if we missed replying to you. Short answer is we currently aren't shipping to the USA but if you were to organise freight pickup we could definitely send one over from Australia. There aren't any dealers in the States.

@@jameshiggins6168 how much shipped to USA. Or any US dealers yet?

That's not winding up a fence, that's winding up a wire.
