Absolutely breathtaking. Such an amazing castle and mesmerizing with the snow covered landscape. Thanks to King Ludwig II of Bavaria for getting it built. Bavaria is so picturesque, especially in winter.

Gorgeous. Was so beautiful in Autumn too. But in winter, wow! How lucky to live there. The walk up from the parking area on an October day is so nice! Can’t wait to visit again

@@mickue for sure. I don't know about winter, but the time I went on the walk up there's a spot where they sell some sort of freshly made donut hole type pastry and hot chocolate. From the scenic walk, to the castle, to the warm snacks, it just makes for a memorable day

The place is absolutely fantastatic and enjoy your trip. But get deeper and to understand why it was built, you have to inform yourself about LudwigII and the castle. Otherwise your only a visitor
