A word about our Christmas Miracle Offering from Steve Bryant and friends

"La Placita" is gathering place in Spanish. It’s also the name of a vision from Pastor Myriam Cortés of Ebenezer UMC for the future of her West Nashville church. Ebenezer’s congregation speaks Spanish, and most are immigrants from central and South America.
La Placita is imagined as - and in some cases already is - a site for English language learning, programming for children, a legal clinic for immigrant services, and cross-cultural activities.
La Placita is the 2024 recipient of Belmont UMC’s Christmas Miracle Offering. For Belmonters who have already experienced the miracle of La Placita - through English language classes, playtime with children, meal sharing, and more - the partnership represents a growing connection between the two churches only six miles apart.
