Beautiful initiative , way to go Reliance foundation. Love from Canada. We come to india every year and spend few months, we try to do ethnic and traditional shopping. Few months back i made a post on my FB with sarees i have acquired from my mother, grandmother, great grand mother in law etc, showcasing sarees from various parts of Bharat, it was so much liked by my friends, home and abroad. Infact I got many friendship requests after that saree post i made, such is the power of indian art, culture...... 😊

Being born in Benaras and uprooted around the age of 12-13, it funny how passionate I feel about Benaras\Varanas i- her history being one of the oldest city in the world; her quirks and fun being Shiv-ki-Nagri and His Bhang, which is either looked down because of addiction or more recently acknowledge a little for its calming effects. Technically, sugar should be the same but it's beyond my scope here; her bhakti culture with gurus like Kabir and seeking equality and spirituality beyond caste and means; her rich family-run shops specialising in one or two things; her daily get-togethers on pan shops after dinners of fathers with kids, while we kids overhear political, religious and social issues during play; her bounty of art and cuisine be it Benarasi craft or Chaat culture and yet never claiming any while humbly carrying on pursuing it and cherishing appreciation. At this point, I have spent more of my life out of India but have never able to feel that I 'belong' anywhere, except my good ol' Benaras.
