I was in the Jäger yesterday, and ran into a double Kearsarge one Nebraska div, absolute pain to play against, they cycle their planes so there was never any real downtime. Was a close match but managed to win. Edit: I should add that it was a no CV no sub game…

Okay, im closing in on my first steel ship, and im wondering, what should i get? You seem like the most reliable YT i know when it comes to these things, so could i have some advice? I want Shiki, but it doesnt seem toooo strong, but its the one i WANT Incomp, nuff said Z-42, seems like a classic dd, looks fun Austin, nuff said

I got Stalingrad, Bourgogne, Mecklenburg, and R lauria. In that order, I wouldn't recommend shiki just because I don't think it's strong enough at tier ten. You have a weak hull, iffy dispersion basically a worse Yamato. If you want big guns get Incomp. It's better for what you're spending (steel not an easy resource) incomp gets hydro, torps, speed boost, good concealment, 508mm I think. It's all around better for what you're spending. If you want my ranking of the steel ships I have I would recommend Stalingrad, it's just my favorite, but Bourgogne is a close second, again it's better for what you're spending. Speed reload booster, better guns then shiki IMO. Hope this helps :)

Hey everyone. Just about to have enough RP for Ohio. Is the ship that good... OR what are thoughts on 3 Legendary Mods instead. Say Colombo, Gouden Lou, and Yeuyang. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

@@keithb4048 Personally I think Ohio is one of the most overhyped ships in the game. It's very good, and if you play a lot of tier 10 ranked then its straight up overpowered in ranked. In randoms I personally straight up prefer Vermont, and I also think 3x strong legmods is worth more than 1 ship, but that's just me.

well, no, you get 10x montana guns instead of 12x NC guns so thats a giant upgrade, and the reload is so improved it even makes the DPM the same, the hull is much better, and the bombers can actually fuck with DDs, hover spot better, and give guaranteed (but technically POTENTIALLY less) damage.

Legit the truth for guns (wayyyyyyyy better angles & better alpha strike / shell count), planes (TTs are far better & faster), and the hull (wayyyyyyy better citadel protection & can maintain angling when using all guns). Louisiana is inferior in every aspect, and that's not even considering that Kearsarge is a tier lower.

@@starmura the only thing accurate about what you just stated is the firing angles on Kearsarge are indeed 10 degrees better and the planes are faster The planes have a virtually identical alpha strike, except bombers are always better than rockets because they can strike destroyers and dont require a specific approach and dont care about target speed or dodging. louisiana citadel is significantly lower in the water and has more protection, and the hanger on kearsarge is solidly double the liability and provides virtually zero protection to plunging ap like louisiana does Kearsarge is better in Tier 9 (assuming you ever get to play in full tier 9 games) which is why it's such a beast in ranked, than Louisiana is in tier 10, but saying kearsarge is overall better is just objectively false. It has worse guns, worse armor, worse hull, worse cit protection, less hp, and worse planes overall. Better firing angles is basically the one thing truly better about it compared to Louisiana.

Off topic but I used to play Henri heavy when these ships came out and it was always a great time seeing them. My HE penned every inch of them, they were slow, the players would show so much side so I got tons of easy AP damage booster chances on the superstructure, and my speed allowed me to keep up with them. They are undeniably toxic to dds and other ships that live and die by concealment but I never really felt that kind of impact.
