I remembered we we're there when the volcano erupted. Traffic jam everywhere, some jeepneys fell down a cliff, everyone was telling their stories of how they got there (bus station). The sky looks like someone dropped a bomb, hours later it circulated from the sky, more hours passed and the sky was fricking red. Ash fell down and dirtied our clothes as we waited for vehicles that'll take us to our destination. N95 masks were sold out. Our lips had tiny cuts in them because we didn't wore any. We travelled 11 hours Batangas to Laguna. Overall it wasn't a pleasing experience.

I'll never forget the day when the volcano erupted. We were having a mass, I looked up to the sky, wondered and then told my mom, "Why are the clouds moving so fast and why do they seem so close to the ground?" We just shrugged it off and continued on listening to the priest until a few minutes later, my sister got a text from her boyfriend saying that the volcano had erupted. We hurried off, went to the car and drove off but there was heavy traffic so we were moving so slow while the ashes were getting closer and closer to us. This overcrowding is causing a range of problems such as pollution, deforestation, loss of wildlife, unemployment, malnutrition, clean drinking water shortages, and general poverty. ~ ~ Every day, 95 children in the Philippines die from malnutrition. Twenty-seven out of 1,000 Filipino children do not get past their fifth birthday. A third of Filipino children are stunted, or too short for their age. Stunting after 2 years of age can be permanent, irreversible and even fatal. According to the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

Watch South China Morning Post documentary about “Pagpag”. That is a common food eaten by poor people in Philippines. Pagpag is the Tagalog (Filipino) word for leftover food scavenged from garbage sites and dumps. The word “Pagpag” in the Tagalog language literally means "to shake off the dust or dirt", and refers to the act of shaking the dirt off of the edible portion of leftover food found in the trash. Pagpag can be either eaten immediately after it was found in the trash or cooked in variety of ways after collecting it. ~ The act of eating pagpag arises from the practical challenges of hunger that results from extreme poverty in the Philippines

Also Due to unemployment caused by overpopulation in the Philippines, Filipinos are forced to become cheap domestic servants and work like slaves in the rich Arab gulf countries like Qatar and Dubai. While I was in Dubai, I saw a Filipino maid who was struggling being forced to carry a child that was twice her size. I tried to explain to that child’s parents that their child is much bigger and heavier than their maid, so they shouldn’t force her to carry him. Then his parents just told me to mind my business.

Hence when the volcano erupted that was also when covid 19 started spreading and the government since then have tried they're Best to help the evacuees but they also focussed on the virus so it was quite hard for them and as a filipino i wish i can help in the future

Oh! I remember being with my family eating out at that time, we we're just going home when one of my family member told us to wear a mask because of the ashes that reached in the city, at I was not thinking too deeply bout it until we watched the news once we got home. It was really terrifying.

I feel bad for the families and property owners who spend their lives and rely on living via tourism and fishing in the lake. Most of them lost so much last yr and were probly stranded bc right after this was the lockdown. I hope they get help and new opportunities

I still can't believe that this volcano errupted. It's been sleeping for quite a while and it's erruption was very sudden. Hope it doesn't happen this year again- stay safe mga kapamilya! Edit: *Why're people saying jokes about how it looks like a planet?* I mean, I can agree but like- *how're you joking about that now?* 👁👁💀
@joemama-xm4xv3 жыл бұрын
Those aren't jokes. They're opinions. They think it looks like a planet or atleast, A different planet. It's like saying what I think about your face. It looks like a volcano (this is an example btw, don't take it seriously.) And yeah, It's not sudden. Volcanoes can erupt at any time. So you can't blame a volcano for doing what it will do.

Its an island in the lake, thats why when the volcano did some unexpected seismic activities, they didn’t have time to rescue the animals and prioritized the citizens first
