You are a sweet, gentle and caring person. I'm happy you are helping so many. Thanks for this video as I've always wondered about cochlear implants. The thrill of seeing impaired people hear for the first time, especially babies hearing their mother's voices, brings me so much joy.

I've heard that even after several mapping sessions it is like listening to the world through a small AM radio. Is that true, false or a little of both!

I'm curious, you weren't born deaf, were you? I lost my hearing in 2016 on right side,so my brain does understand sounds prior to that,my question is if I get cochlear implant would my brain have to retrain to hear those sounds again?? I'm confused when I see videos of cochlear implant patients and say the brain has to relearn those sounds ,but if I heard those before does my brain have to relearn again on right side?

If you have single sided deafness, having a cochlear implant would be little hard. Because you will be hearing two different sounds at the same time. The same sound would be normal in functional ear and would be electronic kind of in deaf ear. Your brain will have to train for it and adjust to the new sound differences.
