A Year of Sanderson The Hoid Box

Very quickly, apparently the natural color of Hoid's hair is white, but he can change it at will, and in the Stormlight Archive he presents himself with black hair. Also there was supposed to be 8 boxes (for the months when there is no book). So in January, it was supposed to be just the 1st book, then in February, it was the cytoverse box, in March the Hoid box and in April, the 2nd book, and so on. Then they switched the boxes of February and March, and now the box of February came in January.... Does it mean there'll be no box in February or in March ?

Depends on when the January box ships, either it'll be one per month, or two in January and none in February. That's what looks likely now, at least. I doubt they move the march box bc of this

According to the latest newsletter the January box should ship late January and become “February’s box”. Then there will still be a march and so forth. I completely forgot that the book months were just the book! Thanks for reminding me

Thanks for putting this in perspective. I was a little bummed at first, since t-shirts like that tend to look very cheap, and the rest of the stuff doesn’t look very expensive either (except maybe the mousepad?) so this info really put it into perspective for me. :)

Videos cannot do justice to that mouse pad. I got it and it is like... shiny. SOOOO beautiful, I also want to use it but I don't wanna get it dirty. I loved the box. Not sure if the price was worth for what it was, meaning post its and stickers mostly, but the design make it worth it.

Not bad. I did expect a bit extra from the Hoid box though. Have a feeling some more Hoid/Wit items will make their way into other boxes as well. For example the very first you didn't get yet lol.

Didn't pick up the box but it's cool to see what's inside. Definitely looking forward to reading the first book though, which is loaded on my kindle.

Thank you for showing the box! I wanted it but I'm too far away. Delivery would be double the cost. Wish you bleeped the Hoid spoiler though. But great video! Hope you do unboxings for the other boxes too! Will watch those!

Thanks for watching! It honestly wasn’t really a spoiler which is why we left it in. I have some friends that were in the same situation unfortunately where shipping would cost a crazy amount. We will definitely open the other boxes and try to keep any potential spoilers at a minimum going forward

That's pretty cool. To get the box in the UK the shipping actually doubled the cost of the box. I don't think it was worth it at that price so I'm glad I didn't get thr boxes in the end and just the digital edition of the books.

Yea I know a couple of people that live in the uk and the shipping was insanely high. Even for us living in the us the shipping for the year was $120

The box was very bland in terms of items if you are used to getting book subscription boxes (they're more creative now). I am happy with the box though because I love the shirt!! It is really soft which is perfect imo and all the other items I like and don't hate and all very useful. A bit pricy if you divide the price, but it's a Sanderson box so that comes with his name. I can't wait until I see the books, that's the big item!

The items were pretty typical to these types of subscription boxes and the quality was good. We got what we expected. At least we got it for you guys so you didn’t have to waste your money!

I just received my Hoid box today. Honestly, I'm underwhelmed. I hoped each box would have at least one unique item pertaining to the theme. For instance, Hoid's box could've had a flute item. I don't count the pin since those were tacked on at the end of the campaign as a "Thank you for the overwhelming support of the K.S." bonus. If this is what is to be expected for the YoS, I'll have to temper my expectations. P.S. A unique item that had already been spoiled that I liked and is in line with what I mean by "unique item" is the Nightblood letter opener for the Warbreaker box.
