Hi, My ET3240 arrived today. Decided to get one after looking at your video. Graham, Bundaberg.

Thank you for the detailed information! Love to see the Siglent arb-gen (awg) and scope.

Thanks Bill, I’ve had mine for about a year and didn’t need to fix anything. It’s a cracking piece of kit and definitely exceeds my needs. Initially, I thought it was an indulgence too far, but the fact that it’s away from my workspace and stays on all the time is a real boon. Howard, M0YZT

Your 1st multimeter fuse replacement in 50 years. You jinxed yourself with the AN-888s review. 😉

Yes, exactly!

Cool. All my toys are semi packed up for moving but I do have one of these. My one issue is that that it seems to pickup 60Hz mains noise here in NA. Also if I remember some of the menu options are a bit strange to operate but basic things seem just fine.

Bill. From this angle I can see what looks like a Lowe FX-1 Absorption Wavemeter behind you. I acquired one in nice condition some years ago. Never used it and I have no instructions for it. Any chance you can show it to us and demonstrate its use on a future video? Love the channel by the way...Regards Kevin M0KRJ

Kevin, yes, well spotted! A Lowe FX-1 indeed. I mainly use is a dip meter, so I'll need to brush up on the absorption wave meter part, like you I have no instructions. 73 de G1YQY

Good one. I've just started to look at a Benchtop Multimeters, looking to get one, so a lot of help. Graham Bundaberg.

Looks really nice. I'll have to upgrade eventually for now I'm using the Aneng 888s. Works pretty good for my needs.

I got mine today, for mainboard and graphics card repair, it is really nice. The only thing that really annoys me is that I had to calibrate capacitance, but the biggest issue in my opinion is that when I'm connecting the 2 probes in diode mode I get 0.01V and there is no way to calibrate it.

Hi Bill; I just enjoy listening to all your videos!!!! Since I saw that you're using an East Tester Benchtop multimeter ET3240; I just bought one,and right now I'm browsing the user manual and noticed that in the section where they show how you can calibrate your multimeter, they're saying that we have to enter a password. I've been looking all over the user manual to find that password, but I can't find it. Do you have any ideas of where I could find that password. Maybe you've been luckier than me. Thank you , and continue your great videos!!!!! Maurice Petit. Ontario, Canada

Hi Bill, Does this multimeter beep on continuity mode? Thanks Lee

Yes it does.

Hi Bill. Sadly my ET3240 has died. Its stuck on the power-up screen. I sent emails to AliExpress and Eastern Tester and so far not a word in return. I suspect that if you buy one of these, buy it on the understanding that there is NO WARRANTY and NO SUPPORT. I bought mine 7 months ago on April 20, 2021.

Sorry to hear about your ET3240 experience. So far, i have been lucky with my Chinese tech.

@@LockdownElectronics haha! I think all tech these days is likely to be China-tech. I think even some flukes are now Asian. I’m fine with China-tech… but I think I will buy from a recognized agent in future. I have just bought a new Chinese bench top, but from Farnell Element 14. 🤞

Yes good point about the omnipresence of China tech. My Siglent kit is excellent, and Chinese of course! Also got direct from the UK distributor.

I want to point out big issue with reviews made by very tech guys. They go too much into high accuracy stuff or into extremes, like testing using 2K volts :-) Lot of the time it is not accuracy (if it is reasonable) that people want to know - but how good real interface is, how handy it is in real work, small issues and quirks. Especially for such complex stuff that can do ton of things. It is like a computer. And I find ET things to be really nice (I have this and 3 of their loads), if they had direct contact and superb supper it could be even better.

Did anyone try to measure diode direct voltage? Mine isn't measuring above 1.6V!
