I suspected as much. I theorize there have actually been several failed attempts at recreating the original. All have either self destructed or been terminated by Smith, accept for version 3.04.2 which is now living a happy life simply going by the name Nugget.

Trott and Smith were childhood friends, Ross became Trotts best mate in Uni, after Uni they got Smith involved. Thats how it goes i believe.
