This is the 31st video of my A1- course and in this video you will learn some basic German phrases to talk about food and drinks preferences. You will learn how to say what you like and don't like to eat and drink. Besides, you will also learn a couple of questions to ask what someone likes to eat.

Yes. But "gern" requires a verb, since it's not a verb. "Iss nicht", you can say it to friends, family. It's informal.

Servus Inap! Jetzt studiere ich 'gern' in Deutsch und Ich möchte etwas fragen. Examples in the video are like , Ich esse gern Salad. 'oder , Wir essen gern Schokolade.' or , Ich esse sehr gern Müsli. ' etc. There are not any Artikel in front of the nouns' Salad 'Schokolade, Müsli etc.' I mean we don't put any article in front of the food nouns ? I would be grateful if you could clear up my confusion. Bis bald!

Yes, most of the times you don't need to put an article in front of the food nouns. Unless you want to say something like " I order a salad" then you say "Ich bestelle einen Salat." Or "I find the salad tasty" then you say "Ich finde den Salat lecker." But while talking about general food preferences, we don't need those articles :).

Yes, something like that. But if you want to say precisely, a tomato and a slice of bread, you use articles. "Morgens esse ich eine Scheibe Brot und eine Tomate." I know it's kind of tricky to explain. But you got the basic concept. That's why I always ask to learn complete sentences too :).
