Yea a bit slack on the replies a. Mine is a completely bone stock a12 running 4age 20v quad throttle bodies with stock injectors and nothing else is needed to run boost they handle it well. Then I'm running an ihi turbo off a 2.5l diesel as the exhaust housing was nice and small. Then running mega squirt engine management with evo wasted spark coils, evo igniter , evo cam angle sensor , and recently put an external waste gate on to smooth out the boost curve as the factory wastegate didn't quite keep up. Also boost wise its now running a bar and its going better than ever. Last time it was on the dyno tho at 10 pound it was around the 122 hp mark was blown away with it !

i have seen your orange 120y on youtube way before i turbo'd mine, had posted a comment on that video but you never replied, was interested to know your power figures. was it hard to get the quads to handle boost well? and what throttle body injectors etc did you use? i think EFI is my next step, as the carby chews too much juice atm.

hey man, im interested in how you think your turbo turned out on the a12, as i was concidering doing the same to mine. was it a expensive job? and do you think it was worth it in the long run??

honestly, it's the best thing i have ever done to my 120y. i was lucky to have found a premade turbo kit which someone had done up already for $500, that included carby ready for boost (solex 32 dis off a renault 5 turbo - can be had for about 50-100pounds on ebay uk) a turbo of a holden jackaroo (ihi rhf5 vicf, i don't recommend this turbo as it is not readily available/cheap for parts. a t25 off a ca18det will suit perfectly) and a fuel pressure regulator (mine is a malpassi boost regulator that cost $115). as for the pipe work going from the standard exhaust manifold to the turbo it's a simple U pipe as you will see i posted on facebook, not much too it. the most money will be spent on a quality 2.5" exhaust system and other random parts to get it going well. all up i think the total cost to turbo my A12 was around $1200 give or take a few hundred, compared to 6-8k it would cost getting a ca18det or sr20det in there, i think it's well worth it. performance is similar if not slightly better than a mildly modified A15 motor. check my other videos and you will see what you could expect from a turbo kit.

Thats a shame about the engine mate To crack the ring lands,was the dyno tune a little on the lean side? im playing with a solex 34 on mine with 15 psi and even with it rich i have noticed plugs 2/3 show signs of being leaner ,

the afr's were a little lean at the time of tuning, but the tuner adjusted a few things on the carby and managed to get a stable 12:0 throughout the rev range. carby needs a good overhaul though with slightly larger jets added i think.

rsiconquest I2:0 throughout the rev range should have been fine,try playing with your emulsion tube go smaller will richen it up without changing the jets ..

anths3 the engine was already on it's last legs, it had blown the headgasket previously twice. and rings were already rubbish in this dyno video. have a new freshly built engine with a few performance enhancements in the car atm. just trying to sort out cam timing issues to get it running right. plus the stage 3 cam it came with won't do wonders for the turbo setup either. so in goes a stock cam until i can send off a spare for a custom turbo grind :)

it didnt like it. lol. cracked piston 3 ringland after a few weeks. there was alot of complications and restrictions with exhaust and wastegate with the setup at the time of dyno'ing so 80rwkw was actually a low result on 15psi. got a new motor in with a little bit of work done to it in atm but still sorting out some gremlins to get it running again. i'll be sure to post up another dyno video when it gets done.

uhhhhh, a12 is the engine, which comes in the datsun 1200 or b110 b120 and 120y b210 and in some countries the b310. care to elaborate why they are "different cars"? what is this a12 car you speak of? im interesed to know.
