A2A Development Update 4/8/18

We've been quietly working on multiple projects, and here is a short update on what we've been up to.

My buddy was a Navy P-3 Flight Engineer and now a Bonanza V-tail pilot. Larry also owned a Navy SabreJet that was used by the brass to fly VIPs. I have flown his V-tail many times and I can tell you Scott you are absolutely right. The V-tail has more in common aerodynamically with a prop fighter than it does the Commanche. Congratulations!

I still hold out for the day when we can fly an A2A Hawker Hurricane. You have the Spitfire and the P-51, you have to complete the Merlin lineup!

Back in 1962, when I was 12, my uncle and aunt came to visit us in Redondo Beach, California. My dad, a pilot for United Airlines, had a friend who owned a Bonanza. The friend let my dad use the plane to take my uncle, aunt, and me on a flight around Los Angeles. I've never forgotten that ride, and now that there's a truly accurate Bonanza in the flight sim universe you can be I'll be buying this one.

The A2A Comanche handbook did such a good job convincing me of the plane's superiority, so I don't know if I could fly a Bonanza. I mean, these are simulated aircraft, but they're so good, so immersive - I developed a loyalty to my plane without even realizing it. Would a Mustang fan buy a Camaro?

V-Tail Bonanza, there's a reason they called it "The Doctor Killer!' An absolutely wonderful airplane, but as you said, the V-Tail pilot has more in common with a fighter pilot than a Commanche pilot, and if the pilot wasn't up to the task, the Bonanza would bite you, and bite you hard. But, for those who took the training to heart, learned to fly it the way it was meant to fly, there wasn't a sweeter airplane in the air.

Time to start the guessing game on a the secret project... I heard 18k ft, military style/astronaut oxygen, and 90 kts... I’m guessing U2, but can’t imagine how they’d test that... :-)

I'm surprised I am seeing more demands for X-Plane porting than waiting on WWII Warbirds to come to P3Dv4... Mind enlightening me on XP11?

X-Plane runs better and look (mostly) better than p3dv4. and the flight model is overall more "dynamic" than ESP. And a many flight simers (it seems) moved from FSX/P3D to X-plane 11. but i also understand that making add-ons for X-Plane doesn't allow the same level of freedom and fine tuning.

Yes, a 1947 V-Tailed Bonanza, V-35. If you read the report, it never should have taken off, the pilot was not instrument rated, and they were in serious instrument conditions.

Hi Scott, I nice looking aircraft, and a bit unusual. Not something I thought of having in my hanger, but A2A aircraft are so nice who knows. I wonder if later on sometime you might do a video showing some different handling characteristics between this V-tail and the nearest A2A product currently out, I guess that's the Comanche. Also are you continuing to develop aircraft for FSX, as I realise it is quite old now, but not everyone can afford to buy new computers and all the addons just to get the latest performance sim from the likes of P3D, when FSX works for many people. Thanks again for the update, look forward to seeing more soon.

As much as I love the A2A aircraft. I really wish you would get into the X plane market. I am a long time Microsoft flight Sim and P 3-D user, But haven’t touched it in the last six months and have converted full-time over to X Plane. I would imagine I am not the only long time flight simulator enthusiast who has switched over full time to X Plane

Hopefully they will make the planes available for XP11. With ORBX and FlyTampa and others entering the X-Plane market, things are looking good. It'd be great to have A2A join the party.

I agree Jeff. I'm also a long time MS FS user, that decided to move to X-Plane 11 instead of P3D v4. Seeing some of the commercial add-on companies start to add X-Plane to their portfolio of products is a great thing and I hope is a trend we'll see as X-Plane users. I hope A2A will consider that as well in the future. I'd certainly be a customer if they did, and as a former customer of several of their aircraft in FSX.

I love xplane, but best hope for A2A making an aircraft for a modern, 64-bit sim aimed at the home market is FSW I'd think.

I have one of these! I so badly want the A2A version!!! But a quick question... FSX has been giving me problems to the point where I can’t use it anymore. I’ve purchased all four small GA aircraft from A2A. Am I able to install all these aircraft on P3D V4 without paying for them again? This will be the only reason that I will buy P3D. Evenytually A2A will have to get into XPlane. I fly all sims eccept fsx boxed and FS4 and have done for years But I'm slowly coming over to XP11 as my main sim

I learned that FATS is Flaps, Airbrakes, Trims, Speeds

Oh, and "MARRRTHA" is obviously what you use when you are involved in a mid-air collision with Superman or the Batcopter, Batplane, Batwing, or Batjet.

yes you do, that's why some people over at SimCoders are making an attempt at "accusim" for XP, default XP still needs complex engine models and persistant aircrafts (FJS 737-200 / REP Cessna 172 ...)

I have to agree with some of the other folks on here. I hope that XP11 is at least on the drawing board. I have flown FSX since day one and even dabbled in P3D, but once I actually gave XP11 a fighting chance, I realized just how far behind FSX and P3D are in terms of physics. It's like switching from Cruisin' USA to Assetto Corsa.
